Back-to-school season brings fresh starts, and sometimes, anxious energy. Whether it's new routines, deadlines or social pressures, these easy calming yoga poses can help teens feel more grounded and balanced:
โฐ Seated Mountain Pose: Perfect when seated at a desk (at school or home). Sit tall, feet flat, spine long. Rest hands on your thighs, close your eyes and breathe slowly. Great for refocusing and calming the mind.
๐ Bridge Pose: Lie on your back, feet flat and knees bent. Press into your feet to lift hips. Opens the chest, grounds the body and deepens the breath.
๐ธ Childโs Pose: Kneel, bring big toes to touch, knees wide and fold forward with forehead on the mat. Stretches the back, releases tension and brings a sense of calm.
โฌ Forward Fold: From standing or seated, hinge at the hips and let your head hang. Encourages quiet and calms a racing mind.
๐ Legs Up the Wall: At home, lie down and rest your legs vertically on a wall. Stay for 5โ10 minutes. This gentle inversion helps soothe the nervous system and relieve tired legs.
