Gardening for Wellbeing is HERE! 🌷💚

A brilliant collaborative project between Warwickshire Wildlife Trust, Nuneaton and Bedworth PCN, and WCAVA brings you the opportunity to take part in FREE gardening taster sessions !! No need to worry about the weather as all sessions will take place indoors so you will be warm and dry in the winter months 🙂

What's included?
- A simple gardening activity and nature based craft 🌿
- Take-home treats! You get to take home something you've grown or made. 🌻
- A hot drink and a friendly chat with the team and fellow participants. 🤝
- The chance to express what kind of gardening activities you'd like to do! 🗣️

🎇 Bonfire Night is nearly here - and it’s a time for fun, but also for staying safe! 🔥

Before you light those fireworks and dig into all the good food, here’s what to watch out for:

🍗 Food Safety / Food Poisoning
- Don’t let food sit out too long - especially meats or salads
- Keep raw and cooked foods separate
- Store leftovers promptly at safe temperatures

🔥 Fire & Fireworks Safety
- Always follow firework instructions carefully
- Keep a safe distance
- Never relight a dud firework
- Always supervise children
- Have a bucket of water or hose nearby in case of fire

🚑 First Aid for Firework Injuries
- Minor burns: cool under running water for 10+ minutes

⚠️**Stay Safe: Prevent Slips, Trips, and Falls!**⚠️

Falls can happen to anyone, but they are especially dangerous for older adults. Here are some important tips to help prevent accidents:

🔍Clear Walkways: Keep floors free of clutter and obstacles to reduce trip hazards.
🧹Use Non-Slip Mats: Place mats in bathrooms and kitchens to prevent slipping on wet surfaces.
💡Ensure Good Lighting: Make sure all areas of your home are well-lit to spot potential hazards.
👟Wear Appropriate Footwear: Choose shoes with non-slip soles for better grip and support.
🏡Install Handrails: Use handrails on stairs and in bathrooms to provide extra support.
