I just want to share this insight into what I've been up to and my why. I’ve received a few lovely thank you messages and cards recently, and they’ve really got me thinking.

I’m currently doing a business course to refresh my knowledge and give myself a bit of a kick up the bottom! It’s helping me stay focused on the service I set out to offer through Karma Mind.
Years ago, I worked in the corporate world chasing bonuses and ticking off objectives. But honestly? Hearing “Kay, you’ve hit your targets” never gave me the same feeling as knowing I’ve genuinely helped someone. That I’ve made a difference. That’s what drives me now.

I’m lucky to work with some amazing clients who share their stories with me—and it’s a privilege to walk alongside them. As I prep my final presentation and revisit my values, I’m reminded why I do this: to help people leave with a little more clarity, calm, and a “karma mind.”

Thanks to those who’ve shared your appreciation—it means the world 🌍❤️

🌟 Connected Minds at the Coach House 🌟
Last night we gathered in the café at Rhyddings Park for another Connected Minds meet-up—a space for peer-to-peer support for anyone who is neurodivergent or supporting a neurodivergent family member.

It was lovely to welcome back familiar faces and greet a new member into the fold 💛

We explored the importance of self-care and managing our own emotional state, with a gentle dive into the Fight, Flight, Freeze response. I shared three simple but powerful tools for anxiety and stress:

🫁 A breathing demo using box breathing
📓 The benefits of journaling
🌿 Practicing something daily that anchors you in the present—whether it’s a hobby, movement, or simply watching the birds

Hopefully everyone left with something useful to carry forward 💬

✨ The next Connected Minds session is on Wednesday 26th November at 6pm, back at the Coach House café.

This is a fab group full of amazing people—warm, welcoming, and real. If you or someone you love is navigating neurodivergence, you’re very welcome to join us.

🌿✨ Calm in the Mind – Tuesday Morning at The Coach House ✨🌿

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this morning at The Coach House for Calm in the Mind. What a beautiful way to begin the day — with curiosity, connection, and a willingness to explore.

We journeyed through:
🧠 Awareness practices to offload busy thoughts
🌬️ A gentle overview of the nervous system — honouring how mind and body work as one
💨 Breathing techniques and bi-lateral movements to support regulation
🧹 Thought sorting using Catch it, Check it, Change it — a practical way to challenge unhelpful patterns
🌸 And we closed with a peaceful visualisation, planting seeds in our own Mind Garden
The kitchen garden was damp underfoot this morning, but here and there, bright blooms still peeled through - quiet glimmers of colour and resilience.

Thank you for showing up, sharing your experiences, and diving into each activity with openness and care. A truly grounding start to the week 💚

🍂 Session 2: Understanding and Managing the Impact of Trauma 🍂

This morning, we gathered for the second session in our six-part series led by Consultant Psychologist Steph, with support from myself. Today’s focus was on how trauma lives in the body—exploring the Fight, Flight, Freeze response and the profound effects trauma can have on our nervous system, brain function, and overall wellbeing. We also touched on the hopeful science of neuroplasticity—how healing and change are always possible.

On my way in, the park was ablaze with autumn colours—fiery reds, golden yellows, and soft browns dancing in the wind before the rain arrived. It felt like nature was offering a quiet metaphor: just as trees shed their leaves to prepare for renewal, we too can release what no longer serves us. Regeneration doesn’t always look dramatic—it can be slow, seasonal, and deeply wise.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today with openness and courage. We look forward to continuing this journey together 💛

🌍✨ A moment of stillness in the middle of a busy day…

During today’s lunch break on a course I’m attending, I wandered into Blackburn Cathedral and found myself face-to-face with Gaia—Luke Jerram’s breathtaking sculpture of our planet. After a full morning of learning, it was grounding to pause, breathe, and take in the quiet beauty of Earth suspended in space.

Sometimes the most powerful reset is a few minutes of peace, awe, and gentle perspective. 💙
