🌱 Week One of Roots of Resilience 🌱
This afternoon I had the joy of welcoming our new group for the first week of Roots of Resilience. We began by exploring what resilience really means, before easing into some simple breathing techniques to help us settle and arrive fully.
I wove in a gentle bit of NLP as we reflected on our expectations for the journey ahead — what we hope to see, hear, and feel by the end of week six.
From there, we travelled into our own histories, exploring the roots that have shaped us: the strong, nourishing ones that support us… and the tender, more delicate roots that come from life’s harder moments.
We closed with a soft visualisation, stepping into our own mind gardens — noticing what’s thriving, what might need re‑potting, and what could be lovingly placed on the compost heap to transform into something new.
So many gentle conversations, so much connection. I’m already looking forward to the weeks ahead. With a bit of luck (and a break in this wild Lancashire weather!) we’ll soon be able to wander out into the kitchen garden and make use of that beautiful space.
But for today, staying warm and dry indoors felt just right. 🌧️💚
