Welcome to the Bilingual Baby Group!
Come join us at Event Space OX1 for a fun and interactive gathering designed for parents and little ones who want to learn another language.

Note: you do not need to speak another language to join this group!

Our group provides a supportive environment for families to connect, share experiences, and engage in games and songs that promote language and brain development, both for the little ones and their adults!

Run by oxford wellbeing coop's Miranda, a primary-qualified and early years teacher (PGCE and CELTYL) with 13 years' experience.

During our sessions, babies and toddlers will have the opportunity to explore Spanish, English and French through songs, stories, and play.

Whether you speak multiple languages at home or are interested in exposing your child to new languages, the Bilingual Baby Group is the perfect place to connect with other families on a similar journey. We can't wait to meet you and your little one!

At OWC we want to explore our areas of risk and vulnerability openly.

Often mission-driven initiatives like coops or charities have their integrity compromised by imbalances of power, blind spots, and the overemphasis of one area at the expense of another.

All of us at The Oxford Wellbeing Coop are familiar with the fallout from that — whether as workers, organisers, clients, or students — and we fully expect to encounter these patterns in the development of the Coop.

It’s important to us to bring these conversations in rather than shy away from them.

We are developing a shared language for navigating the tensions and discomforts that come with this ever-evolving dance between sustainability and accessibility; support and autonomy; flexibility and structure.

Last week, we had an amazing opportunity to do just that. Alex Cole-Hamilton of Power & Integrity facilitated an incredibly supportive workshop where we explored the 3 P’s — Purpose, People, and Practices — through the lens of transformative power.

Unexpected things came up alongside opportunities to realign more truthfully with our mission.

Something we collectively acknowledged was just how valuable it felt to make time for this work, yet how easy it would have been to put it on the back-burner...

Join on Zoom for this 1h workshop to learn about the roots of the day of the dead tradition and how it could help you process grief or honour your ancestors.

During the 60 minute talk-workshop, you will learn about the original roots of this practice, how the tradition is held nowadays, and also take part in a communal ritual to reflect on the life of your loved one who have departed, share his/her stories and a chance to contribute to the virtual communal altar, all that in a well held and safe space.
