Meet Erich 💙
Erich works at Harbour Rise care home in Paignton, Devon, where she has truly thrived over the past four years. In her role as a carer and lounge assistant, she brings warmth, dedication, and compassion to everything she does. Originally from the Philippines, Erich began her journey studying to become a doctor. However, she soon discovered her passion lay elsewhere and chose to follow her creative dreams instead.
Erich went on to build a successful career as a fashion designer, a role she dedicated herself to for 23 years in the Philippines. She especially loved designing beautiful wedding gowns and elegant ball gowns for special occasions, combining her creativity with her love of clothing.
She met her husband, Mike, through mutual friends and moved to the UK in 2012, initially living in Lincolnshire before settling in Devon in 2013. After volunteering at Torbay Hospital, Erich discovered a new calling in care, where her compassion and warmth have made a lasting impact.
At Harbour Rise, Erich is incredibly popular with residents, families and staff. She is known for her kindness, and residents often say how glamorous she is. She brings joy wherever she goes, sharing her love of music by singing and playing the guitar, ukulele, and keyboard. She is also a wonderful presence at the home’s Summer Garden Party and other events, always dressed in her signature stylish outfits. Erich is the craft queen and our residents love her origami.
Outside of work, Erich enjoys spending time by the sea, going for peaceful walks along the beach, and visiting family whenever she can. She previously enjoyed boating and fishing, but now embraces a quieter pace of life.
Erich is a valued member of the Harbour Rise family, and we are so lucky to have her 💙
