🥳 Happy belated 1st Birthday Riley & Rocco 🥳

On the 13th of November twins Riley and Rocco celebrated their big first birthday with friends and family 🎉

Mum Jan sent in this lovely update to share -
“We just wanted to share a little update on Rocco and Riley — they turned 1 on the 13th of November and are absolutely thriving! 🥰💙🩷They’re both taking their first steps, full of personality, always laughing, and keeping us very busy. we’re so proud of how far they’ve come.
We honestly can’t thank you enough for the incredible care you all gave them and the support you gave us in their early days. Thanks to everyone at SCBU, they’re happy, healthy, and hitting milestone after milestone. You’ll forever be our superheroes, and we’re so grateful for everything you did for our babies. we hope the team are well and enjoy seeing this wee update 😁”

🎁 Happy 1st Birthday Korrin! 🎁

Today NICU superstar Korrin is celebrating his big first birthday and had a party to celebrate with friends and family! 🥳

Korrin’s mum Morgan sent in this update to share -

“Hi it's Korrins First Birthday (1st of December). Korrin spent a week in NICU. He was born at 35 weeks weighing 3lbs 13 (you wouldn't believe it looking at him now). I couldn't be more thankful to the staff in SCBU for all the care, compassion and kindness shown to Korrin and myself throughout our stay, so thank you so much 😊 we had a little party for Korrin on Saturday, he had a great day 🥳 here's a few pictures from when he was born to now xx”

We’re delighted to announce that the RAH Neonatal Unit has opened for recruitment to the neoGASTRIC TRIAL! This important study will help answer a key question in neonatal care, and we’re proud to be part of an international effort to improve outcomes for the tiniest patients.

💜 World Prematurity Day 💜

Today in the unit we celebrated world prematurity day with all of our little NICU superstars and their families!

A massive thank you to Amanda from ‘Baby Sensory Inverclyde/Renfrewshire’ for volunteering to come into the unit today and provide the babies with their first ever baby sensory class 🥰

Also a big thank you to Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity for providing gift bags for the babies and cupcakes for families ❤️

Lastly a special thank you to Lisa our Nursery Nurse who organised our world prematurity day celebrations and made the day a big success for our neonatal families 🫶🏼

We also hope that all of our NICU graduates enjoyed celebrating this special day at home with family.

🎈 Happy 1st Birthday Micah! 🎈

Our amazing NICU superstar Micah has just celebrated his big first birthday with friends and family, and mum Donna has shared a very special update 💙

“Hi!! Just wanted to send some pictures of Micah who turned 1yr old on Friday 14th!
Micah was born in the Queen Elizabeth at 28+6weeks weighing 2lbs 11. He spent a week in the QE then moved to RAH where he spent the next 7weeks 😊 despite his tough start he is thriving now and we couldn't feel more lucky and proud everyday 🥰 the amazing care and attention from all the staff will never be forgotten with a core memory of coming in on Christmas Day to Micah being in a cot will remain with us forever!much love to all 🥰🥰and kisses from Micah ❤️xx”

We have loved hearing this update and want to wish Micah a big happy first birthday! 🥳 Micah looks so handsome in his birthday outfit! We hope that you have all had the best time celebrating and are so excited for Micah to spend his first Christmas at home with family! 🎉🫶🏼

🥳 Happy 1st Birthday Olivia! 🥳

On the 8th November NICU superstar Olivia celebrated her big first birthday with family and friends. Olivia’s mum Caitlin-Maire sent us this amazing update to share 🥰

“Olivia was born at the Royal Alexander Hospital at 35 weeks after a very long journey filled with worry weighing 3lbs 15 onz and spent 2 weeks at the Neonatal Unit where she was cared for by the amazing staff who looked after us and our family. Our girl is 1 and is absolutely thriving bet all odds in life always happy smiling and enjoying life we as a family are so proud of the beautiful young lady she’s become and are all so proud of her. She has brought so much light into our life’s. Olivia is one special girl. 🩷

💙 Harris turns 1! 💙

Today NICU graduate Harris is celebrating his 1st birthday with family and friends 🎉

“We can't believe our boy is 1 on Wednesday. We celebrated Harris' birthday at the weekend and had the most amazing day. Born at 33 weeks on 20/8/24 weighing 3lbs 11oz. Harris was in the neonatal unit for a month before we finally got him home. It’s been a journey, but he is now thriving!
We are forever grateful to the RAH neonatal unit, which is staffed with real life angels. We wouldn't be here today without you all. Thank you!
