Mindfulness (MBCT) 8-week course
Commencing : Tuesday May 10th for eight consecutive weeks until 28th June 2016
Venue: Falmouth School of Sailing, Tregoniggie estate, Falmouth TR11 4SN.
• Tuesday evenings from 6.00pm to 8.30pm
There will be a retreat day on Saturday 11th June
Mindfulness is about being fully present in the moment to moment unfolding of our life and can be cultivated through meditation, yoga, and other mind-body practices. These practices can over time improve our wellbeing by raising our awareness and compassion to more skillfully respond to life’s challenges.
Stress occurs when we live reactively and we can feel overwhelmed.
So much of our lives is spent thinking about the past or planning for the future that we miss what is happening in the here-and-now.
We live our lives on automatic pilot—not really being aware of what we are thinking, feeling, or doing.
Mindfulness practices can help us to
• Develop space to see things more clearly
• Build our resilience to stress
• Appreciate our lives more
• Increase our ability to relax
• Cultivate compassion and acceptance in our lives
