There is something beyond eating a breakfast like this that’s just ‘making an effort to eat healthy’

It’s a deeper connection with self.
It’s aligning with what our body really needs.
It’s laying aside societal expectations of what’s ‘normal’ to properly nourish ourselves.

Been busy this year building a greenhouse and getting into growing beautiful food with Alice, exploring new nature spots, racing my bike…

…but most importantly still free from Crohn’s no symptoms no inflammation no meds for coming up on 4 years. The healthiest fittest and strongest I’ve ever felt. Consistency with eating whole plant foods, hydration, sleep, mindset, covering off the fundamentals keeps me on track. 🍉 ☀️ 💧

I’ve really missed not being active on Instagram and interacting with you all on here this year, but looking forward to being more active, sharing more tips and testimonials because the power of lifestyle change to have a dramatically positive effect on our health and well-being needs to be heard far and wide! 🌱

5 years ago I started experimenting with fruit for breakfast and boy have I come a long way since then!!

I started out with a cheap blender which kept leaking all over the kitchen and I suffered some gas and uncomfortable digestion (my microbiome hadn’t yet adjusted to eating more fibre) but I KEPT GOING! 🍌🍒🥭
———
In time as I got a better blender and my body got used to eating more fruit I started to love it, and CRAVE more of the same 🙌
———
5 years on I’m still eating fruit for breakfast and STILL DISCOVERING amazing new flavour combinations like this strawberry blueberry smoothie bowl 🥄
———
If what you’re doing right now isn’t working out for you I encourage you to switch your breakfast to fruit for a month and feel the amazing benefits 🍓🍑🥝

When we are eating whole natural foods, apart from it being great news for our gut health, we don’t need to carefully regulate portions. Eat as much as you care for until you are full 🤩
———
Our bodies are self regulating when we eat natural foods! We have both volume and nutrient receptors which turn off appetite 🍉🥦🥕
———
Bypassing these receptors by removing the fibre, adding salt, adding oil, adding condiments (the standard American diet) and suddenly you have a recipe for dysbiosis, IBD flare ups, weight gain and chronic disease ❌
———
That’s no fun, right??

Achieving health by healthful means just makes sense. It enabled me to get off meds to heal up my Crohn’s and it can help you too!
