"Look for the good in yourself and in others"
When we are feeling stressed and anxious our brain stops looking for the good stuff.
It's often our nearest and dearest that notice this first.
We might be more critical of them, or telling the kids off more than we are praising them.
Our mindset becomes more negative. We are much quicker to notice all the bad things around us, like the untidy room or the task that hasn't been done. And we stop noticing the good things.
This is why one of the first things we ask our clients to do when we work with them is to start to notice and write down the good things.
It helps to bring our perspective back in to balance. Yes, the kitchen might be mess but the meal that came out of it was made with love and tasted delicious so maybe the mess isn't such a bad thing afterall!
