🌍 World Immunisation Week is here!

This global campaign highlights the importance of vaccines in protecting people of all ages from preventable diseases.

This year’s theme, “For every generation, vaccines work,” celebrates how vaccines have safely protected individuals, families, and communities for generations and continue to safeguard our future.

Let’s spread awareness and support immunisation for a healthier world. 💉✨

Allergy Awareness Week, 22nd–28th April 💛

Allergies affect more than a quarter of the UK population and occur when the body’s immune system reacts to normally harmless substances. While some allergies are mild, more severe reactions can lead to anaphylaxis, which can be life-threatening.

Many people live with symptoms that go unrecognised, meaning they don’t always receive the support or diagnosis they need.

This year’s theme, “I Wish I Knew: Diagnosis Matters”, highlights the importance of understanding symptoms, seeking help, and getting the right diagnosis.

Let’s raise awareness and support those living with allergies. 💛

April is Stress Awareness Month!

Stress is not always a “bad” thing, in fact, it can sometimes help us stay focused, motivated, and ready to take on challenges.

However, when stress becomes a constant in our workplace or daily lives, it can start to impact how we think, feel, and function. Over time, ongoing stress can take a serious toll on both our mental and physical health.

This is a reminder to pause, check in with ourselves, and prioritise our wellbeing. 💙

Learning to recognise stress and finding healthy ways to manage it isn’t just important, it’s essential for our overall wellbeing.

🌟 Chickenpox & Vaccination 🌟

Chickenpox cases are currently on the rise in the UK. While it’s often seen as a common childhood illness, it can have a bigger impact than many realise especially for children who are immuno-suppressed or otherwise vulnerable.

Chickenpox spreads easily. Although it’s usually mild, it can sometimes lead to serious complications requiring hospital treatment, including chest infections and fits.

The good news is that all young children are now eligible for the chickenpox vaccine. It will be given as part of the existing MMRV vaccine, which already protects against measles, mumps and rubella, at 12 and 18 months of age.

Children up to the age of six can also catch up on their doses when invited.

Vaccination not only helps protect your child but also helps safeguard vulnerable members of our community.
