Good evening Wytches I once had a rather heated debate, in which I was lectured at for 2 hours on how "Potion Making" was so "Harry Potter," and not real Witchcraft.

"Simmer Pots?"

"Brewing Oils"

Even a cuppa could be a " Potion"!

Let's face it, if it's liquid, in a Cauldron and it's hot, it's a potion! 🤣

Which brings me to this little post!

This is the Simmer Pot for our new Oak King Magickal Mists!

Made with Juniper Berries, Bay leaves and Oak Bark, once cooled and strained Essential oils will be added.

Can't wait to show the final product!

Good morning Wytches, this morning Harley captured the most incredible moment; where the smoke from our Oak King Incense met the morning sun flooding through the door!

The rays of light dancing beautifully with the smoke, a perfect symbolic representation of the coming Solstice!

Good morning Wytches, yesterday's Witch and Stitch was an absolute blast!

Watching one of the participants spin yarn- if you have never seen or Erika spin yarn, or anyone for that matter it's hypnotic! Jo was spinning this beautiful hand dyed lambs wool, absolutely stunning!

Erika started telling us all about the origins of Spinning, including that Neanderthal's may well have used a less sophisticated version of spinning yarn!

Fascinating!

Witch and stitch is run by Ericka, every Wednesday 12-3 it's completely free and participants get 10% off in the shop!

✨ Festive making has officially begun! ✨
I’ve got the gorgeous James C. Brett Twinkle from my shelves in Red, Green and White. This yarn (availabke in more colours in the shop) is flying out for Christmas ornaments, bows, stockings, and all those sparkly little festive makes. 🎄✨

This morning I couldn’t resist starting a big twinkly Christmas bow for the shop window, and yes… I may have treated myself to a very cute new hook too 👀🎀

This is awesome!

Very excited to reveal that Plymouth has just been accredited as the UK’s second ‘Nature City’!

Over the last few years, we've been working hard to grow nature projects in collaboration with communities and local organisations. The publication of the Plymouth Plan for Nature and People - our ambitious vision for the next five years - was the final step in achieving this national recognition.

It is a welcome pat on the back for all the volunteers, partners and council teams who have done so much along this journey. I hope it will drive further investment towards helping nature thrive in our city’s blue and green spaces whilst being a springboard for sharing good practice with other like-minded towns and cities.

The Oak King Cometh

Good afternoon Wytches, there are many things that both amazes and mystifies me about the natural world!

None more so than the Weather! I find it fascinating!

Whether you believe that global warming is changing our weather or Mother Nature fighting back; or both like me. The changes in weather from one extreme to the other are mind blowing!

A few weeks ago I was dying from the heat still, then last week's insane rain to this week's bitter cold! Knowing that even though there are blue skies, the Sun is just that little further away and we can't, at this time feel its warmth!

And yet in just over a month's time the Oak King will take his throne once again and the Sun will begin to return!

We talk about Seasonal Magick, we talk about Moon Magick, Astrological correspondence, but what if we use the Weather as either the focus for our Magick, or the correspondence!

What if we used the rain to banish and cleanse?

Or the Cold snap to strengthen protections, on the Power of Ice to bind?

The Winds to send messages and release Intentions?

What happens when we do this at different times of the day? The Rising Sun for new Beginnings or the end of day for bringing things to a close?

What will you craft when the Weather changes next?

Good morning Wytches, our friend Missy from Darkwood Fae has created more beautiful creations with P'Tah in her crafting room!

We now have 4 Ritual Altar plates

Hekate

The Moon Goddess

The Spiral Goddess

The Sun

Each is made with resin set into a glass bowl, each has Magickal items added along with intention and a final blessing from P'Tah the Egyptian crafting God.

In addition to those beauties she's also made some stunning Crystal Necklaces and Earrings that are just perfect! And a great gift for Yule and Christmas!

We will be sharing individual posts later today about all her wonderful creations!

As our local councillor Tom, recently stated, Stoke Village is turning into a centre for Crafting in Plymouth and it's amazing!

Well done The Bright Stitch !!

✨ WE DID IT! ✨
Yesterday I survived (somehow 😅) the 24-hour Crochet TikTokathon with Nicolle and Erin — and together we raised over £500 for the British Heart Foundation! ❤️🧶

Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who popped in, donated, stitched along, kept us awake, or witnessed the slow and hilarious descent into yarn-fuelled delirium. You absolute legends.

The shop is open today if you fancy popping by, asking questions, or just reliving the amazing crochet marathon vibes with me (promise I’m awake… mostly).

Feeling grateful, exhausted, and very, very yarn-powered 💛
