Our good friends at Mustard Tree Cancer Support Centre. Meet Miranda, Rachel and some of their fabulous volunteers. The Mustard Tree are based at Derriford Hospital and offer support to anyone living with or beyond cancer and their loved ones and carers.

We were invited along to their volunteers away day to talk about the project and they were keen to wear a Tash and encourage conversations about cancer to raise awareness.

Attending a screening can lead to an early diagnosis which makes a big difference in terms of treatment options and outcome. An early diagnosis can also save your life.

If you’ve received an invite through the post but transport is what’s getting in the way please talk to West Devon and East Cornwall Breast Screening - they offer free day rider bus tickets for screening appointments 👍👍

The Real Whitleigh News

We support breast screening 🎀

It’s a free NHS service for women 50-71 that helps find cancer when it’s too small to see or feel. Screening saves lives. Make sure to attend your appointment when you receive your invite.

As Christmas approaches for some of us it’s a tough time - feeling unwell doesn’t stop, treatments carry on, uncertainty about the future continues and some of the people who we love are no longer here with us.

Sometimes being around others who understand can help just a little bit.

👇👇

Tomorrow, as part of our Compassionate Café session we will be painting pebbles for our loved ones to go into the ‘Memorial Garden’ we are creating as part of our Community Garden.
We will also be planting some ‘forget-me-nots’ next year and look forward to watching them grow too.
We will be joined by Daisy and Sophie from the Green Communities Team who support our weekly gardening group that meets every Tuesday 1-3pm. Our Community ‘Patchwork’ Garden is situated on Wolseley Business Park and is a beautiful space for anybody to come and sit and enjoy. If you are interested in coming along tomorrow and want to find out more or just take part in the pebble painting activity - please just come along! All equipment will be provided.
