As we age the connective tissues in our skin, such as collagen and elastin, break down which can lead to loss of volume and muscle tone. Our skin also loses elasticity and fat pads shift downwards, resulting in the face appearing loose and saggy especially around the chin and jowls; eyelids begin to droop, and nasolabial and marionette lines deepen. Many people feel that this makes them look older, and they look for a procedure that will “reverse” this effect. Fillers work by literally filling up space in the layers of the skin. This plumps it up to reduce the appearance of wrinkled and sagging skin
Many people choose a liquid facelift over a surgical facelift because it:
• is cheaper
• will produce more natural-looking and subtle changes
• is a quicker procedure with minimal recovery
• is less painful
• involves less bruising
This is a non-invasive alternative to a surgical facelift providing subtle yet effective results through the use of dermal filler and if needed also the anti-wrinkle injections. Liquid Facelifts are used to address a loss of elasticity, jowls, hollowness and drooping skin, helping to lift, energise and add structure and definition to the face.
The consultation involves a thorough examination of the skin and the facial structure as well as the facial symmetry to determine the patients’ ‘problem areas’ and the most suitable products to be used to treat them. I only use premium products which give a natural, soft and subtle lift with long lasting results of about 18-24 months. The amount of filler needed will vary depending on the depth of each individual’s lines and folds, as well as the extent of volume loss and sagging in the face. The liquid facelift treatment differs for each patient and due to this, the price of the treatment differs too, however this is all discussed during the consultation so that the best option can be offered to the patient that would suit their needs and budget.
The Liquid Facelift pin-points up to 6 crucial areas of the face
1 Cheekbones- By enhancing the cheek bones, we can add structure to the mid face, often helping to lift the nasolabial folds in addition
2 Nasolabial Folds- Reduction of the appearance of lines between the nose to mouth area, resulting in a rested and youthful appearance
3 Prejowl Area- Lift and reduce the appearance of jowls, often caused by a loss of volume in the jaw, cheek and chin area
4 Eyes- Soften and blur the lines at the sides and corners of the eyes (crows feet) alongside lifting the brow area to create the appearance of more open eyes.
5 Mouth Area- Smooth away lines and droopiness which often results in a sad or angry appearance.
6 Jawline- A subtle lift to the jawline can create a more youthful ‘V’ shaped chin and jaw area
In some cases, additional skin treatments may be recommended in order to ensure the best results. One of the best and most effective alternative treatments would be microneedling or platelet-rich plasma as well as the combination of the two. PRP treatment involves taking blood from the patient's vein in their arm, spinning it in a centrifuge machine to separate plasma from blood cells. The plasma is then injected back into the patient’s face. The plasma contains platelets and growth factors that stimulate collagen production.
