The Story So Far & Last Night’s MoMENtum Moment
Last night’s Pie & a Pint felt like one of those moments where you sit back for a second and think,
“This is exactly why we’re doing this.”
Eight men came along.
Some didn’t know a soul.
Some hadn’t seen each other since their university days.
Two new lads walked in not knowing what to expect — and left with people already messaging them the following morning.
And as I watched everyone settle into the evening… the conversations, the laughter, the easy atmosphere… I was reminded again how powerful it is when men are simply given a place to belong.
It still overwhelms me sometimes — in the best way — how something as simple as sharing food or grabbing a coffee can unlock connection so quickly.
Different walks of life, different stories, different ages… yet within minutes they’re talking about everything and anything.
No pressure.
No expectations.
Just men turning up as themselves, and realising they’re not as alone as they thought.
The group chat was busy this morning. Plans already being made.
I sat there looking at the messages thinking, “Three months. Only three months… and look at what’s already happening.”
We’ve held quite a few events now.
Some packed.
Some quieter.
But every single one has mattered, because every time someone shows up, there’s a chance for connection — and sometimes that’s the one thing a man really needs.
Seeing men start meeting up in their own time…
Watching friendships form from complete strangers…
Hearing the shift in someone’s voice when they say, “I’m glad I came tonight”…
That’s when it really hits me what we’re building here.
And I say we very deliberately.
Because MoMENtum isn’t just something I’ve created — it’s something we’ve all shaped together.
Every conversation, every new member, every bit of encouragement, every shared laugh over a plate of food… it’s all part of the foundation.
I’m proud of what we’ve built so far, and I’m genuinely excited about where this community is heading as we move into the new year.
More events, more connection, more chances for men to feel understood, included, and part of something real.
To everyone who has shown up, supported us, cheered us on, or nudged a mate to come along — thank you.
This wouldn’t have happened without you.
And it means more than I can put into words.
If you’ve been thinking about joining us, you’re welcome anytime.
Pull up a chair — there’ll always be room for you.
