“Ever had a migraine that just won’t shift?”

She messaged needing help at crazy short notice.
Ongoing migraine.
Neck like concrete.
Shoulders up round her ears.

We focused on back, neck and shoulders.
Proper soft tissue work.
Not just a quick rub over.
She said she felt like she’d been exorcised.
Came home.
Felt a bit washed out.
Then slept for hours.
Woke up with no pain.

That’s what happens when you actually address the tension patterns driving it. Upper traps, suboccipitals, thoracic stiffness. The stuff that builds up quietly over time.

If you’re local to Poltimore or the outskirts of Exeter and you’re battling regular headaches or migraines…
Don’t just keep pushing through.

Message me and let’s get you booked in.

“I’m not an athlete, I don’t need sports massage.”

You don’t have to run marathons to deserve to move well.

Most of my clients around Exeter aren’t elite athletes.
They’re busy parents.
Office workers.
People who train a few times a week.
People who just want to stay active.

Sports massage isn’t about being “sporty”.

It’s about load.

If you sit 8 hours a day.
Or lift 3 times a week.
Or run at weekends.

That’s load.

Your body doesn’t care what label you give it.

If you want to feel better moving day to day… this is for you.

The biggest mistake people make after injury

They stop. Completely.

And while rest matters, total rest usually makes recovery longer.
You lose strength, confidence, and sometimes motivation.

The key isn’t to stop moving - it’s to find a way to move around the injury safely.
That’s how you keep your body strong and your head in a better place.

I’ve worked with plenty of people in Poltimore and Exeter who thought their injury meant months off training.
With the right plan, we kept them moving. And they healed faster for it.

👉 If you’re recovering from an injury and not sure what’s safe, send me a message - we’ll find a way to keep you active.

“Rehab doesn’t have to feel intimidating.”

That’s how she described her session.
Tranquil setting.
Easy access.
Free off-road parking out here on the outskirts of Exeter.

But more importantly…
She said she felt in expert hands.
Especially when it came to understanding female anatomy and how it actually impacts muscle balance, pain and rehab.
That matters.
Because women aren’t just “smaller men” when it comes to training load, hormones, or injury patterns.

She mentioned patience.
Reassurance.
Confidence building.
That’s a big one for me.
Rehab shouldn’t feel rushed.

Or like you’re being told off for being injured.
It should make you feel clearer.
Stronger.
More in control of your body.

And if you know someone who’s constantly saying they’re “fine”… but always aching?
Maybe they’re not fine.
Maybe they just need the right support.

If you want that kind of rehab experience, message me and let’s get you booked in.

“I don’t want someone digging their elbow into me.”

Fair.

Not everyone wants to be folded in half on the table.

Good job that’s not what I do.

Soft tissue therapy isn’t about chasing pain. It’s about getting the right response from the tissue.

Sometimes that’s deep.Sometimes it’s not.

I adapt pressure.Technique.Approach.

You’ll always know what I’m doing and why.

This isn’t a punishment session. It’s treatment with purpose.

If you’ve ever had shoulder pain that comes and goes, this will help.

You know that annoying shoulder ache?
Fine one week. Back again the next.

That usually happens when you treat the symptom, not the cause.

Massage helps short-term.
But if posture or muscle imbalance stays the same, the pain keeps returning.

For most people in my clinic, it’s not “knots” in the back.
It’s tight pecs and a weaker upper back pulling everything out of balance.

Fix the balance, and the shoulder stops nagging you.
Simple as that.

👉 If this sounds like your shoulder, message me to book in and let’s sort the root of it properly.

10k this morning.
And a PB.

I’ve only been back running two weeks…

After six months of being told to rest.
I’ll be honest - that was hard.

When so much of your identity is tied to being active, sitting still doesn’t just affect your body. It affects your head too.
That’s exactly why I work the way I do with clients.

Rehab doesn’t mean stopping everything.
It means adapting.
Finding what you can do.
Keeping you moving in a way that supports recovery - and keeps you sane.

Because let’s face it, you’re far more likely to stick to your rehab if it’s not the only thing you’re allowed to do.

So yes… this might be a little bit of “do as I say, not as I do.”
But I’ll always do everything I can to keep you active, moving, and feeling like yourself while we fix the problem.

First session. Immediate relief. That’s the goal.

This was someone’s very first treatment with me.
We took the time to chat things through properly.
Found the problem areas.
Worked out what was actually driving the pain.

Not just where it hurt.
But why.

Hands-on soft tissue work.
Targeted treatment.
Then a few simple exercises to take away and keep things moving at home.

That “I feel better already” feeling?
That’s what happens when treatment is tailored, not rushed.

If you’re local to Exeter / Poltimore
Training, working long hours, or just fed up of the same niggle…

And you want answers, not guesswork.

“I’ve left it too long - it probably can’t be fixed now.”

I hear this all the time.
And it’s almost never true.

Your body is built to adapt.
It just needs the right input to start changing again.

I see people every week who’ve been putting up with pain for months… sometimes years.

They assume it’s just “how it is now”.
Then we actually look at what’s going on.
Address the real issue.
And progress comes quicker than they expect.

So don’t write yourself off because it’s been a while.
The best time to start was then.
The next best time is now.

If this sounds like you, message me to book or check availability.
Let’s see what your body needs right now.

3 things people do when they’re in pain… that actually make it worse

If you’ve ever tried to “push through it,” this one’s for you.

Most people do one of these:

1. Rest completely.
Sounds sensible, right?
But if you stop moving altogether, everything stiffens… and the pain usually comes back as soon as you try to do normal life again.

2. Stretch the life out of it.
If the muscle is already irritated, pulling on it even more doesn’t magically fix anything.
Sometimes it just winds it up further.

3. Google it.
And suddenly you’ve convinced yourself it’s the worst-case scenario.
Pain doesn’t need drama.
It needs understanding.

Once you know why something hurts, the plan gets clearer - and usually a lot simpler than you think.

Ever had that moment where something finally feels easier the second you get off the table?
That was the case here - Achilles and glute pain easing straight away.

And that’s exactly why I take the time to work out what’s actually causing the issue, not just chase the sore bit.
A few targeted techniques.
The right approach for your body.
And sometimes you feel the difference instantly.

Whether it’s running niggles, gym aches, or the usual “I’ve ignored this for too long,” you don’t have to just put up with it.

If you’ve been dealing with something similar, drop me a message and let’s get you moving better.
