💚 Supporting World Mental Health Day at Wickmeads 💚

At Wickmeads, we believe that care goes both ways. While we’re dedicated to supporting our residents every day, we also know how important it is to look after our amazing team.

To mark World Mental Health Day, everyone came together – dressed in green – to show support, raise awareness, and remind each other that it’s okay to talk and to take care of ourselves too. 💬🌿

💛 Congratulations to our Employee of the Month – Jagoda! 💛

We’re so proud to announce that Jagoda, our fantastic Head Housekeeper at Wickmeads, has been named Employee of the Month for September! 🌟

Jagoda’s dedication, positivity, and hard work make such a difference every single day. She takes great pride in keeping our home clean, organised, and welcoming — something that both visitors and relatives often comment on. Her cheerful nature and commitment to excellence truly shine through in everything she does. 🏡✨

A huge well done and thank you, Jagoda, for all that you do for our residents and team. You’re a real credit to Wickmeads, and this recognition is so well deserved! 👏💐

☀️🎶 What a Day at the Wickmeads Summer Fayre! 🎶☀️

The sun shone down as residents, families, friends and our local community came together for a wonderful afternoon of fun and laughter.

💙 Residents and friends ran lively stalls, joined by visiting stallholders – and even the Avon Lady, sparking fond “Ding Dong Avon Calling” memories!
🍔 Our chefs kept everyone well fed with a BBQ, while the ice cream van served plenty of 99 Flakes.
🎵 Jo and Hudson entertained the crowds with fantastic live music, getting everyone clapping and singing along.
🎟️ The day ended with our Grand Raffle, boasting over 40 brilliant prizes donated by generous local businesses.

Resident Angela summed it up beautifully: “I can’t believe how many people are coming to my stall – it is wonderful, just wonderful.”

All the money raised will go towards more activities and special events for our residents. Thank you to everyone who joined us and made it such a memorable day!

🎉 Celebrating Our Stars at Wickmeads! 🌟

This month, we’re thrilled to celebrate Dave and Robyn, who have both been nominated for Employee of the Month!

💙 Dave is a valued member of our care team. Known for always going the extra mile, his colleagues describe him as a true team player who lives and breathes our HEART values. Nothing is ever too much trouble for Dave!

💜 Robyn is a fantastic support across all departments. From assisting the management team with the day-to-day running of the home to helping the activities team deliver unforgettable events, she brings positivity and dedication to everything she does.

We marked VE Day with a delightful afternoon of cream tea, classic songs, and cheerful company here at Wickmeads.

Residents came together to reminisce, sing along to wartime favourites, and enjoy some truly scrumptious scones.It was a beautiful way to remember the past and celebrate the spirit of togetherness. A huge thank you to our team for making it such a memorable day!

🐴Mr Kelloggs the miniature horse🐴
paid a visit to the residents at Wickmeads. His TV fame has not gone to his head and he enjoyed visiting the lounges and bedrooms to say hello. He even had a go at a jigsaw!
