🎄 Merry Christmas from Agincare 🎄

Christmas at Agincare is a time to reflect on our roots. As a family-founded company, we are built on compassion, love, and togetherness: values that shine especially bright at this time of year.

This video captures some of the festive fun and joy our incredible teams have been sharing with the people we support. From decorations and celebrations to laughter, smiles, and meaningful moments, our colleagues go the extra mile to make Christmas truly special.

We couldn’t be prouder of the warmth, energy, and dedication our teams bring, not just during the festive season, but all year round.

Their commitment and kindness are what make us a care provider with a difference.

Wishing our teams, the people we support, and their families a very Merry Christmas filled with joy and togetherness.

As part of our annual Christmas tradition, Agincare Director Adam Luckhurst and his brother Simon joined Father Christmas today to spread festive cheer across our Weymouth care homes.

This much-loved tradition is a family one, started by their dad, Derek Luckhurst, Founder and Chairman of Agincare.

This time of year is a reminder of the roots on which Agincare was built. Adam spent his early childhood living at Agincourt Care Home with his family, growing up alongside residents and experiencing first-hand the warmth, community and compassion that define care home life.

Simon also has a long history with our Weymouth care homes, beginning his career as a care worker at Crecy Care Home and progressing through dedication and hard work into a management role.

As a national care provider with our Head Office on Portland and a strong history in Weymouth, it is important to us that we remember where we came from, starting with a single care home on the Dorchester Road almost forty years ago and growing into one of the country’s leading care providers today.

We are proud to now have the capacity, resources and expertise to support people throughout their entire lives, while staying true to the values of kindness, respect and family that have guided us from the very beginning.

A big thank you to 'Mr C' for lifting everyone’s mood today and bringing so many smiles to residents, relatives and colleagues alike 😊

Moments like these remind us that no matter how much we grow, our heart remains firmly rooted in care, community and connection, especially at Christmas.

🎉 Celebrating Kathleen’s 100th Birthday at Waterloo Care Home 🎂

Our lovely Kathleen at Waterloo Care Home celebrated her 100th birthday, an incredible milestone we are so proud to share with her🎉. She enjoyed a special pub meal out with family and friends, before opening some of her birthday cards. At Waterloo Care Home, she received an astonishing 120 cards from residents, team members, and the local community, including beautiful homemade cards from Verwood CE First School and Nursery, not including the cards she received while out with family.

The celebrations continued with a joyful party in her honour 🥳, and Kathleen was overjoyed to receive a very special birthday card from The King 👑. Adding to the excitement, our local mayor, Councillor Spencer Flower, visited to personally present the card to her, making it a truly unforgettable moment.

Happy 100th Birthday, Kathleen! Your warmth, kindness, and incredible spirit inspire us all. 💛

At Agincare, Christmas Jumper Day has become a much-loved tradition, bringing together our teams across the country each year in support of a fantastic cause.

This year was no exception. Teams from all our nationwide care services, came together in full festive spirit to raise almost a thousand pounds for Save the Children.

A huge thank you everyone for embracing this tradition and supporting such a worthy cause. Your commitment to giving back truly reflects what we stands for, and we couldn’t be prouder.

Here’s to another successful Christmas Jumper Day, and to continuing this wonderful tradition for years to come.

It was an honour to welcome Denmark’s Ambassador Kristina Miskowiak Beckvard, Minister for Senior Citizens Mette Kierkgaard, and their delegation to our Waterside Care Home in Southwark this week.

Agincare Group Chief Executive Raina Summerson, led a tour of the home, introducing the delegation to residents, nurses, care workers and GP, and highlighted our innovative partnership with Southwark Council.

Our team also took part in events at the Danish Embassy alongside key sector professionals, and saw Raina join panel discussions.

Over two days, we were proud to share ideas, learn from one another, and showcase the important work taking place across health and social care sectors in the UK.

The visit created valuable connections and laid strong foundations for continued collaboration in the future.

A huge well done to our Waterside team, who organised and hosted the visit brilliantly. Chef Joan and her team delivered exceptional catering, with the specially prepared Danish dishes earning particularly warm praise.

No two days at our Head Office on Portland are ever the same! Yesterday afternoon, we were delighted to welcome accomplished opera singer Jon Valender, who delivered an inspiring performance as part of Destination: Opera.

Destination: Opera creates bold, unconventional opera experiences that celebrate not just the music, but the people and places that bring it to life. Jon has partnered with Portland’s arts organisation b-side to deliver this innovative project.

Agincare’s Chief Executive Raina Summerson, who serves as the non-executive Chair at b-side, continues to champion creativity within our community. And true to form, Founder and Chairman Derek Luckhurst fully embraced the spirit of the event!

A great reminder of what makes Portland such a special place.

As part of our ongoing video series showcasing how our live-in care service transforms lives, we were truly privileged to spend time with Neill and his Agincare live-in care worker, Ron.

Neill, who lives with Cerebral Palsy, is clear that his disability has never stood in the way of living life to the fullest. A creative arts graduate, he is an accomplished writer of poetry, letters and short stories.

In this video, Ron shares how he supports Neill to achieve his goal: whether he’s crafting his latest poem, heading out to a gig, or joining in with family meet-ups.

Their shared love of music, nature and comedy shines through… just don’t mention football, as their opposing team loyalties always spark lively debate!

Ron works closely with our Clinical Lead, Cher Goodyer-El Meheiry, to ensure Neill receives the highest standard of personalised care and support, while also building strong relationships with our healthcare partners. This collaborative approach helps create the stable foundation Neill needs to pursue the things he loves.

It has been a real joy for our team to work with Neill and Ron, and we are incredibly grateful to them for allowing us to share their story. And who knows, you may even spot Neill’s work on bookshelves in the future.

Agincare is delighted to announce an annual £2,500 donation to support the incredible work carried out by the historic Weymouth Amateur Boxing Club.

The club has been a valued part of the local community for generations, offering young people and adults a positive place to grow, train and build confidence.

Our Founder and Chairman, Derek Luckhurst, has been a long-time supporter of the club, recognising its importance in helping local people thrive both inside and outside the ring. That commitment is proudly continued today by his son, Agincare Director Adam Luckhurst (pictured with Head Coach Mark Ford) who has also trained at the club and understands first-hand the impact it has on the community.

Even though Agincare has grown to become a national care provider with the experience and resources to support people throughout their lives, our roots remain firmly in Weymouth.

Our very first care home, Agincourt, located on Dorchester Road, sits just a short distance from the boxing club. It’s where Derek and his family lived alongside residents in the early days of Agincare, shaping the core values of community, compassion and togetherness that guide us today.

We’re proud to give back to a community that has given us so much and continue supporting organisations that make a real difference.
