It’s always so satisfying seeing the difference just one session can make 🤌

Refreshed, refined and ready to go!

Here we have a few weeks ago trialing the pre show flush out. Something I always recommend to see how your body reacts, especially when water loading and playing with salt/electrolytes balance and relaying it back to their coaches

Excited to see the progress he has made and the before and afters in his next session before he steps on stage 🙌🏻

Ending my first season on a high 🤍

You truly learn so much about yourself through bodybuilding and just incredibly excited that this is just the start for me.

The process, the people you meet, the lessons you learn and the hard work you put in. Genuinely grateful for it all and everyone who’s supported me along the way!

Over 30 weeks of dieting and I’m my mind and body is definitely ready to sign out of this phase and log into off season to take on board the feedback, get back to work and grow 📈

New plan. New goals. Let’s go.

Lymphatic massage for the wellness queen before British finals this weekend!

Big emphasis on the lower, helping to bring the condition through the quads and ham/glute tie ins and abs 🙌🏻

Plus some work to help with thoracic rotation for hitting those side shots! 🙌🏻

If you’re thinking of a pre stage massage I recommend getting booked in 2 days ideally pre show. The effects of the massage will continue to work its magic for 24-48hrs meaning you will look your best 2 days after!

It’s also great to help freshen up the fatigued legs after all the cardio and training on the run up to your shows! 🙌🏻

And this is just the start…

Despite me training and prepping for this moment for so long, competing at honestly brought my love for bodybuilding to another level.

I’ve loved every second of this journey so far. The process, the growth, the prep, the people and community, the opportunities and it really has made me learn so much about myself.

This honestly just feels like the start. And I can’t wait for what’s to come in the future.

The joys of bodybuilding is that we get to keep progressing and being better and be better each time.

We get to go away and work on areas that need to be brought up and grow, we get to go and learn more, different approaches and push ourselves to new limits and discomfort

How f*cking exciting is that

Incredible show, and incredibly blessed to share the stage with such insane physiques and the loveliest girls! Very proud to have placed 5th with an invite to Worlds representing GB 🇬🇧

A lot of newness, a lot firsts and a whole lot of memories.

So much to be grateful for

Flush out for 2 weeks out from the Olympia ⭕️

This was mainly to help refresh the body as much as possible to help with recovery and to help improve posing

Plus the benefits of lymphatic drainage to flush out as much excess water weight and inflammation as possible

We also focused on some lower lats and hip flexor release to help with side rotations

Incredibly excited to see him hit the stage and what a journey so far! Exciting things to come!

Just like that my first ever peak week is here!

27 weeks of prep are done

1 more until show day!

I was going to write a really reflective post but to be honest, I don’t even know where to start.

It seems to have gone by so fast and I’ve honestly loved every second!!!

Even the odd low day when I’ve questioned what the hell Im doing. But I have to say I can count on one hand the days like that I’ve had!

I’ve even enjoyed dancing in my routine and would have thought I’d actually start to enjoy posing! I’ve learnt so much and met the more incredible people along the way and never ever dreamed I’ve have the confidence or self belief that I’ve developed along the way!

The moment I said “that’s me”

Everyone has their own reasons for starting bodybuilding

The main reason for me was CONFIDENCE

As mentioned in a previous post, despite climbing cliff faces and running marathons, cliff diving and downhill biking, I lacked confidence in myself as a person.

Without going into too much detail, a previous partner said to me “If I was you I’d never look myself in the mirror. “ Ever since I lacked that much confidence that I didn’t even have a mirror in my room and hated looking at myself and very very rarely took photos of myself.

Posing has by far been the hardest part of this journey for me personally.

So when I stood there and looked at what I’ve worked so hard for over the last year or so, something clicked and I was so proud of what I’ve achieved so far.

That feeling I got, literally stopped me for a second as I said to Amy “OMG that’s me!”

As cheesy and cliche as it is, this is what bodybuilding has been for me so far and I actually can’t wait to get on stage!

But the process, the lessons bodybuilding teaches you and how I’ve developed as a person has brought out a new side of me.
One that is more confident in myself. One that can look at myself in the mirror and be proud of who I am.

And this wouldn’t have been possible without those who’ve supported me and helped me get to where I am now ⭕️

It can be so easy to get in your own head, to overwhelm yourself with pressure.

But sometimes you have to look at how far you’ve come and get excited for what’s to come

Side poses and the water bottle twist effect 🌪️

I’ve said it before and il say it again, thoracic rotation is so important for showing your best self in those side poses.

Think of it like a water bottle, if you can’t rotate, you’ll likely look blocky and solid. The more we can rotate, the smaller that waist and the more we can emphasise the hour glass shape! ⏳

One side will always be better than the other, but it shouldn’t be an excuse. There are things we can do to help!

Including reducing tightness with massage and rolling and also strengthening the muscles that can help rotate you around.

Not only will this help with your rotation but it will help you look stronger and more confident in those poses!

After all, you could have the best physique out there, but if you can’t show it off, it will hold you back! Marginal gains, maximum showcase.
