Fine Dining Afternoon – A Wonderful Success! ✨

We had an absolutely lovely time last Friday organising our special Fine Dining Experience for our residents and their families. The atmosphere was warm, elegant and filled with smiles as everyone came together to enjoy a beautifully prepared three-course meal.

It was heart-warming to see family members join us, take the time to get to know each other, and share stories over delicious food. The afternoon was filled with laughter, conversations and plenty of happy moments as everyone relaxed, connected and enjoyed each other’s company.

A huge thank you to all the staff who helped prepare, set up and make the evening run so smoothly. And an even bigger thank you to our lovely residents and their families for making the event so special with your presence.

We look forward to hosting many more memorable evenings like this!

We had a wonderful time doing arts and crafts today! Our residents enjoyed making beautiful cards for their loved ones, putting so much care and creativity into each one. It was a lovely, heart-warming activity filled with smiles, laughter, and lots of colourful ideas.

Our Oaks and Willow residents had a truly wonderful day!
We spent time exploring different cultures and countries through engaging videos, which sparked lovely conversations and lots of curiosity. Residents enjoyed learning new things and sharing their own experiences and memories.

We also had a fun quiz session that everyone got involved in, bringing out plenty of smiles and friendly competition. Alongside this, we introduced some more...sensory activities on the laptop using the Moore Portal, which the residents absolutely loved. It was a great way for them to interact, stay stimulated, and try something new.

Overall, it was a joyful, lively day filled with learning, laughter, and more...connection - and we’re so glad our residents enjoyed every bit of it!

We had a beautiful start to the Christmas season today!
Our residents were joined by our lovely Church friends for an uplifting session of Christmas carols, and the atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and festive spirit.

Everyone joined in with singing their favourite carols, and a few of us even enjoyed a little dance together! It was wonderful to see so many happy faces, tapping feet, and heartfelt moments shared between our residents and visitors.

The room truly came alive with music, friendship, and Christmas cheer - a perfect way to begin our festive celebrations. We are grateful to our Church friends for making the afternoon so special, and we look forward to many more joyful moments throughout December.

Christmas Has Officially Started at The Devonshire! ✨🎄

We’ve begun our festive preparations, and our wonderful residents - along with their lovely families - helped us bring the home to life with Christmas magic.

Everyone enjoyed decorating our beautiful Christmas trees together, choosing colours, arranging baubles, and adding those final sparkling touches. Seeing families and residents laughing, chatting, and creating memories together made the day extra special. ❤️🌟

We also opened the first doors of our Advent calendar, which brought lots of excitement and big smiles as we start counting down to Christmas Day. 🎁✨

It was a warm and joyful day filled with teamwork, festive cheer, and togetherness. We can’t wait to continue decorating and celebrating throughout December! 🎅🏽🎄

Getting Ready for Christmas at The Devonshire! 🎄

We had a wonderful time today at our care home getting into the festive spirit. Our lovely residents enjoyed making Christmas cards for their families, doing some cosy knitting, and even playing a few board games together.

The room was filled with laughter, chatter, and plenty of creativity! We all relaxed with some tea, coffee, and delicious cakes too. ☕🍰

It was a lovely day spent together, and we’re excited for more festive fun in the coming days! ❤️✨

We had a wonderful time celebrating International Men’s Day with our amazing gentlemen here at The Devonshire!

Our morning started with a special Men’s Club session where the residents enjoyed a variety of activities, including board games and the classic “4 in a Row.” The room was full of friendly competition, laughter, and great conversations.

To make the morning even more enjoyable, our gentlemen were treated to pastries and warm bacon rolls - a big favourite! Our manager also joined the group for a cup of coffee, making the moment even more special and meaningful for everyone.

It was a lovely day recognising and celebrating the wonderful men in our community. We look forward to many more moments like this at The Devonshire Care Home.

What an absolutely amazing day we had celebrating International Movement Day with the people living with us!

Our home was full of energy, smiles, and more...movement. We planned a variety of activities to make sure everyone could join in and enjoy the day in their own way.

Residents who stayed at home took part in a range of gentle exercises, music and movement sessions, chair-based workouts, and sensory activities. A big thank you to our carers and our physiotherapist for supporting and guiding the residents throughout the sessions.

Some of our residents enjoyed a wonderful outing to the local bowling centre! They had a fantastic time playing bowling, cheering each other on, and sharing lovely moments together. After the game, everyone enjoyed a warm cup of coffee and a slice of cake - a perfect treat after an active morning!

To keep everyone refreshed, we set up a special hydration table offering different fruit-flavoured drinks like orange lemonade, as well as refreshing infused water with mint, lemon, and cucumber. It was a huge hit with the residents!

We are so proud of our team for creating such a fun, engaging, and memorable day!

We’ve had a fantastic time this week enjoying a variety of activities, special moments, and celebrations together.

Those living with us took part in different activities that brought lots of smiles and engagement - from arts and crafts, singing sessions, games, gentle exercises, and relaxing tea afternoons. It was lovely seeing everyone so involved and enjoying each moment.

We also celebrated several birthdays, making each resident feel extra special with cards, cakes, music, and great company. Thank you to our amazing staff for ensuring every celebration was warm and memorable.

It’s always wonderful to see the happiness on our residents’ faces as they connect, laugh, and share these beautiful moments together. Thank you to our residents, families, and dedicated staff who help make our home such a caring and lively community.

We had such a lovely time celebrating Fish and Chips Day at our care home last Friday! It was a wonderful day as we came together to celebrate and remember. Everyone proudly wore their poppies, and our amazing team - from kitchen, Lifestyle, nurses, carers, laundry, housekeeping, people living with us, managers, and families - joined in to make it a truly special day.

A big thank you to everyone who donated towards the Royal British Legion. 💂‍♀️

Our talented chef baked delicious poppy cakes that everyone enjoyed during our coffee morning ☕, and our residents had a great time doing arts and crafts to mark the occasion. 🎨

It was a beautiful day of remembrance, togetherness, and gratitude.

What an amazing day we had celebrating Remembrance Day here at The Devonshire!

The lovely people living with us enjoyed a beautiful afternoon filled with music, singing, and joyful moments together. A big thank you to Tony Collins for entertaining us and making the day extra special with his wonderful performance. 🌺
