Every day, 240 people will wake up to the life-changing impact of a stroke. But with the right support, stroke recovery is possible.

Mums, dads, grandparents, young people, and even children can be left unable to move, see, speak, or even swallow. It’s a traumatic, life-changing event that robs survivors and their families of the life they knew.

Meet The Physio - Max Hinton

Max graduated with a BSc in Physiotherapy from Bournemouth University in 2022, where a formative placement in Stroke Rehabilitation confirmed a passion for neurological physiotherapy.

After qualifying Max worked as a Neuro Physiotherapist at The Brightwell, a charity neurological clinic in Bristol, for two years. Here they gained experience working with individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, FND (Functional Neurological Disorder) and a range of other neurological conditions. Max also created and led a specialist Neuro-Yoga-Pilates class designed to support mobility, strength and wellbeing. Max is currently undertaking a MSc in Neuro Physiotherapy at University College London (UCL). They are also a member of the Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Neurology (ACPIN).

Max is committed to improving access to healthcare and contributes to the Diversity Networks within the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), working to challenge barriers and promote intersectionality within healthcare and the profession.

In their spare time they enjoy hosting dinners for friends and family, and spending weekends going on day trips with their wife.
