Every empty seat. Every empty pair of shoes. Each one a reminder of the teammates, friends, and family we’ve lost to silent battles.

Together, we can change this. Together, we can step forward for better mental health.

- the first step to better mental health

About last night… we united an incredible community , a spectacular venue to launch our Soles of the Season campaign.

It was a pleasure to listen to sum up perfectly the power of sport on the journey to better mental health:

“When you look out on the pitch - or any pitch across the country - you see what teamwork can achieve. Out there, no one stands alone. Every player, every supporter, every step matters”

Thank you to everyone who showed up, supports us, and stands beside us on this journey 🤝

Together, we’re supporting every brave first step toward better mental health. 🩵👟

A message from our Founder and CEO, Neil Harris 🩵

“Last night, I had the huge honour of attending 10 Downing Street for the launch of the UK Government’s Men’s Health Strategy.

This pivotal moment marks a significant step forward in recognising and addressing the mental and physical health challenges faced by men across the country.

I am so proud to have been part of this landmark event, representing Sport in Mind, and the power of sport and physical activity in saving and transforming men’s lives. Our work with and the , supporting men through accessible, inclusive sports programmes for mental health has never felt more vital and I am delighted to see the issue firmly on the agenda.

Last night, the nation finally shone a spotlight on a truth we at Sport in Mind have championed for years: men’s mental health is vital, and sport is not just a game - it’s a lifeline.

Through relentless dedication, we’ve witnessed how sport transforms lives, offering hope, recovery, and genuine human connection to those who need it most.

It was an honour to stand alongside others last night who recognise the importance of this too - collectively, we can make a huge difference and save so many lives”

Today marks a turning point.

The UK’s first Men’s Health Strategy shines a light on the silent crisis in men’s mental health, and we’re here for it.

💬 Mental health front and centre with £3.6 million pledged for su***de prevention.
⚽ Partnerships with premier league and grass roots organisations signalling a shift towards sport as a key tool for recovery.
🤝 Community-led support at the heart of change.

At Sport in Mind, we’ve seen how movement heals. Our sessions give men a space to connect, recover, and thrive; without stigma, without pressure.

This strategy is a start. Lets continue the conversation and create real change.
