🦷 Stress Awareness in Dental Nursing

New data from the British Association of Dental Nurses (BADN) highlights the scale of stress and mental health challenges facing dental nurses today:

81% have experienced stress
73% anxiety
42% panic attacks
92% burnout
85% have had a mental health issue in the past 3 years

Common causes include low pay, long hours, lack of training, poor communication, and feeling undervalued. Sadly, over 55% say they receive no mental health or wellbeing support at work.

It’s clear that stress awareness and wellbeing support need to be a bigger priority in dentistry.

🕊️ Armistice Day – 11th November 🕊️

Today, we pause to remember.

At 11am, we’ll join people across the nation for two minutes of silence to reflect on the courage and sacrifice of those who served in the First World War and in every conflict since.

Armistice Day is a moment of gratitude and reflection- a reminder of the cost of peace, and of the people who gave so much for the lives we live today.

Among them were countless doctors, nurses, and dentists, working in field hospitals under extraordinary pressure. Dental teams treated infections, repaired injuries, and helped restore the ability to eat and speak - vital care that often meant the difference between recovery and despair.

Their compassion and skill shaped the future of healthcare and dentistry as we know it.

As we stand together in silence, we honour their service, their sacrifice, and the lessons they left behind.

Lest we forget.
