In 2026 we have a rare start to the Lunar New Year. On 17th February the Lunar year of the Fire Horse begins with a Solar Eclipse and it is also a New Moon.

A Fire Horse New Year only comes every 60 years, and it shakes everything.. Fire Horse energy is known historically for rebellions, rapid change, breakthroughs and intense self reinvention. Expect accelerated time lines, the things you have been avoiding will demand action. This energy burns away stagnation and pushes us to confront what has been stuck and forces us into choices we have been avoiding for years.

Your identity, relationships and purpose gets rewritten. The Fire Horse Year can activate dramatic career pivots, endings that open better beginnings and risky decisions we suddenly feel brave enough to make. We will rediscover our voice enabling us to be our authentic self bringing independence. People who have felt “asleep” wake up.

February 17th also brings the Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse. This event occurs when the Moon moves in front of the Sun but does not fully cover it leaving a glowing circle of light in the sky. Spiritually, the Ring of Fire represents purification and divine protection. Eclipses are known as turning points, they remove what no longer belongs in your life and accelerate destiny. The fire symbolises transformation, burning away fear doubt and outdated paths. This is not a subtle energy. It is bold and life changing, as we release what no longer serves us.

The New Moon brings potent energy as it unfolds in Aquarius, the visionary and innovative air sign where the Sun and Moon unite. New Moons mark fresh starts, a powerful time to plant seeds and set intentions. This one however carries an electric edge of unpredictability. Expect insights, breakthroughs and unexpected shifts as new beginnings start to take form.

Imbolc’s symbol in the Cosmic Wheel is simple but powerful:

This is the season where your soul lights the match.

If you want to celebrate Imbolc on your own, here is the Imbolc Rite that I personally use in my rituals.

In the quiet space between Solstice and Equinox,
a subtle brightness begins to gather.
The First Light stirs —
not loud, not sudden,
but a soft spark rising from within the Earth and within myself.

This is the moment of gentle awakening,
when inspiration moves like a whisper through the soul,
and new timelines shimmer just beyond perception.
The quantum field opens,
inviting intention, clarity, and quiet courage.

Beneath my feet, Gaia hums with returning energy.
Her ley lines warm and brighten,
carrying a new frequency through soil, stone, and root.
The land is not yet green,
but it is listening, preparing, remembering.
Life gathers itself in the dark,
ready to rise.

Imbolc is the threshold where the inner spark
begins its journey toward becoming a beam.
A moment to pause,
to feel the guidance of the higher self,
to hear the soft messages that only silence reveals.

Old timelines loosen their grip,
falling away like frost in morning light.
New pathways open —
clean, bright, unformed —
waiting for the seeds of intention
to be placed gently into the quantum soil.

Here, in this early stirring of the year,
we breathe with Gaia,
we listen to the soul,
and we choose the light we will grow into.
