This week, both Dan and I (and almost every other person I know!) have been knocked for six with a flu-type cough and cold. It brought everything to a sudden pause.

We had to cancel on clients, I cancelled on a girly night out I was soooo looking forward to (thank you ladies) and I was off work — something I don’t do lightly. Thank you to everyone who showed such understanding and kindness. It truly meant so much.

But in that pause… there has been a gift.

I don’t feel rushed. I don’t feel frustrated. I feel guided to rest. It’s as though my body and spirit gently said, “Now is the time to slow down. To reset. To receive.”

We hold space for others so often, but sometimes we are reminded that we too must honour our own healing. The body whispers before it ever needs to shout.

This week has been about surrender, stillness, and trusting that rest is sacred.

February 17th – Welcome to the Year of the Fire Horse 🔥🐎

We said goodbye to the Year of the Wood Snake, shedding old habits and versions of ourselves. Our ritual of writing down what we wanted to release and burning it in the fire with our lovely friend was deeply rejuvenating — a beautiful way to let go and make space for what’s next.

The Fire Horse is one of the most powerful and dynamic combinations in the Chinese zodiac. Horse energy brings movement, courage, independence, and forward momentum. When fueled by the Fire element, that energy becomes bold, passionate, and transformative.

This year invites us all to break free from limitations, trust our instincts, and move toward what truly lights us up. The energy can feel fast and intense — but it’s also deeply empowering.

Fire does not only burn — it illuminates.

✨ A Little Share from My Heart ✨

Last night I experienced something that honestly left me in awe.

As a Reiki Master, I know distance Reiki works. I understand the principles. I trust the energy. But knowing something and truly experiencing it are two very different things.

A friend of mine couldn’t attend her session, so she suggested we try distance Reiki instead. I hesitated… then I trusted.

At 8pm, I imagined her lying on my treatment couch. I worked exactly as I would if she were physically here. My hands became warm. I was drawn to specific areas. I received clear visions and messages — the same depth, the same connection, the same flow.

It felt surreal… yet completely real.

And the beautiful part? She felt it too. At 8pm her ears began ringing and she felt the energy come in. When I later shared what I had seen and sensed, it resonated deeply with her experience.

This is what she said afterwards:

“I’ve only had reiki once and never had any distant healing. It felt the same as when I had reiki in person. So amazing 👏 That’ll be a brilliant addition to your services… 😘 x”

Distance Reiki means you don’t have to travel. You don’t have to leave your home. You can lie down, sit quietly, or even go about your evening while the energy flows to you. Reiki isn’t limited by time or space — and I’ve just been beautifully reminded of that.

I’m still in awe… and so grateful to witness this work in action.

Life has been doing that thing again this week.

No hot water, a 14-year-old boiler finally giving up, and the smell of fresh paint as I tried to get on with some DIY in the spare room. One of those weeks where real life is very much happening.

What caught me off guard was how the sounds and smells from the gas man brought back memories of my dad. It felt unexpectedly comforting - a quiet reminder that we’re often more supported than we realise.

There’s been mess, stress, and the very practical reality of paying for things I hadn’t planned for. And still, underneath it all, there’s been a gentle sense of calm ticking away in the background.

Moments like this remind me why I love Reiki. It doesn’t need perfect conditions or a calm home. It meets you right where you are, helping things soften, warm up, and begin to flow again when life feels a bit stuck.

So if life feels like it’s getting in the way for you right now, you don’t have to navigate it alone. Gentle, supportive energy is always available 🤍

A recent placebo-controlled clinical study explored Reiki for chronic knee osteoarthritis pain — a condition that can affect movement, sleep, mood, and daily life.
