✈️ Celebrating Eddie on International Men’s Day

Today we proudly celebrated Eddie as part of International Men’s Day. His wife kindly brought in a wonderful potted history of his life — including his time serving in the RAF during the Second World War. 🇬🇧

One special memory shared was Eddie’s visit to Verwood School, where he spoke to the Year 3 children about his experiences. The pupils were full of enthusiasm, asking questions and sharing what they had learned.

Some of our favourite quotes from the children were:
✨ “Thank you Mr B, I learnt that girls have to fly planes!”
✨ “I thought it was amazing that the V2 bomb went faster than sound!”

A truly heartwarming reminder of the impact Eddie has had — not just through his service, but through inspiring the next generation. ❤️

We're taking part in Save the Children's Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 11th December! Every pound we raise will give children in the UK and around the world the chance to grow up healthy and happy and change the future for good.

We’re delighted to invite all residents, families, and our lovely community to join us for our Christmas Fayre on Saturday 13th December 10-3pm (choir singing from 2pm).

Expect twinkling lights, festive music, Christmas stalls, a cosy farm-shop corner, delicious mince pies, warming mulled wine… and a very special visit from Father Christmas himself! 🎅❤️

The decorated crosses created by our residents were laid at the War Memorial Garden in Ringwood on Remembrance Sunday, with thanks to the Royal British Legion for placing them on behalf of Yarnley House.

We were also proud to include a beautiful piece of artwork created by the wife of one of our residents — a heartfelt addition that made the tribute even more special. ❤️

Decoupage Crafting at Yarnley House!

Our residents have been getting creative this week, using decoupage techniques to transform empty wine bottles into beautiful candle holders. 🍷🕯️

It was a relaxing and hands-on session full of colour, imagination, and plenty of chatter. The finished pieces will look stunning and sold at our Christmas Fayre — perfect for adding a warm glow to these darker evenings. ✨

🎆 Fireworks & Fine Company 🍷

Our residents enjoyed a lovely evening watching a small firework display, complete with a cosy glass of wine in hand! 🥂✨

It was the perfect way to light up the night — full of colour and shared moments. ❤️

🌺 Remembrance Crosses Delivered by The Royal British Legion 🌺

We were honoured to receive our Remembrance crosses from the Royal British Legion this week. These will soon be collected and laid at the graves to honour and remember those who served and sacrificed. 🕊️

Our residents have taken great care in preparing them — a simple but powerful act of gratitude and remembrance. ❤️
