🚑 Community First Aid Course – Date Comming Soon! 🚑

Would you know what to do in an emergency?

North Yorkshire Medical Solutions will soon be running a Community First Aid course for anyone wanting to learn essential first aid skills and feel more confident in an emergency.

This 3–4 hour course will cover topics including:
✅ CPR
✅ AED use
✅ Basic first aid skills
✅ And more

This course is ideal for parents, carers, community groups, sports clubs, and anyone who wants to build their confidence and knowledge in first aid.

Please note: This course does not meet HSE requirements for the workplace.
We also offer workplace-compliant first aid courses for anyone needing certification for employment.

❄️ Community Support Update – Snow & Icy Weather ❄️
Due to severe weather conditions affecting North Yorkshire, North Yorkshire Medical Solutions is offering limited community support assistance using our off-road vehicles, staffed by trained personnel, to help people remain safe during this period.

What we can help with:

- Supporting essential workers who are unable to travel safely to or from work

- Providing welfare support and first aid only while emergency services are en route

- Assisting with transport to a place of safety where appropriate and safe to do so

- Moving stuck vehicles

Important Information – Please Read Carefully:

We are not the emergency services and do not provide medical treatment or clinical care

In a life-threatening emergency, always call 999 immediately

Our role is limited to non-clinical support, first aid, and practical assistance only

We do not replace NHS Ambulance Service or other emergency responders

Support is available for genuine need only and is subject to availability and weather conditions

While we will do our best to help where we can, demand and conditions may mean we are unable to respond to all requests.

Did You Know? 🤔

In the UK, every workplace — however small — must have at least one first aider on site at all times. But depending on your business’s risk profile, you may need to enrol staff on one of two distinct courses.

• Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW)
Ideal for low-risk work environments (such as offices or shops)

Duration: 1 day
Was £95 pp Now £85pp Until 1st January 2026
Certificate valid for 3 years

Course content includes the full core of workplace first-aid: the role and responsibilities of the first aider, scene assessment, primary survey, CPR & AED use, placing an unconscious casualty in the recovery position, choking and external bleeding control, shock treatment and minor injuries.

• First Aid at Work (FAW)
Designed for higher-risk workplaces (such as factories, working at height, large warehouses, or those with hazardous materials)

Duration: 3 days
Was £195pp Now £175pp Until 1st January 2026
Certificate valid for 3 years

Course content covers all EFAW elements plus extended modules: secondary survey and monitoring, management of suspected head and spinal injuries, chest injuries, bone/joint injuries, major trauma, burns and scalds, eye injuries, sudden poisoning, management of asthma, allergic reactions, and other serious workplace illnesses/conditions.

Over the weekend, our team had the pleasure of providing medical cover for the Pateley Bridge Firework & Bonfire 2025 event.

It was an incredible evening filled with spectacular fireworks, a roaring bonfire, and a fantastic community atmosphere – what more could you ask for?

A huge thank you to the organisers, volunteers, and everyone who came along to make the night such a success. We’re proud to help keep our community safe while everyone enjoys events like these! 💚

We can finally announce we will be running 2 Community First Aid Courses on the 15th November at the Bar Room at Hugh Ripley Hall in Ripon. Parking is not provided but there is plenty of car parks available around the area

These will be split into 2 courses - a morning course (9am-1pm) and an afternoon (1pm-5pm). The price for a course is £30 per person with the ability to purchase add-ons such as your own First Aid Kit, box of 100 Nitrale Gloves and Pocket Masks used for CPR.

Course numbers are limited to 12 people per session and this course is not to be used nor meets the requirements for an EFAW or an FAW Qualification. The certificate is valid for 3 years upon completion on the day.
