🦶 The Real Reason Your Heel Pain Isn’t Going Away 🦶

If you’ve been resting, stretching occasionally, or changing shoes but your heel pain still hasn’t shifted — you’re not alone.

The truth is, most people focus on the symptoms instead of the cause. Heel pain often sticks around because the muscles, fascia, and movement patterns that support your feet haven’t been properly retrained.

That’s exactly what I cover in my free online training, where I share my top 3 strategies that consistently help golfers and active adults overcome heel pain for good.

You’ll learn:

✅ My top 3 strategies that have helped many amateur golfers overcome heel pain
✅ A few real-life case studies from people who are now back to walking and playing pain-free
✅ A bit about my own journey and why I’m so passionate about helping others recover properly

⛳ Watch the free training here:

And for anyone ready for a step-by-step plan, I’ll also introduce Heel Lab — my 10-week heel pain rehab program, designed to help you move confidently, walk further, and get back to doing what you love pain-free.

Don’t let heel pain hold you back any longer — this is where recovery really starts. 👣

🦶⛳️ Why So Many Golfers Struggle With Heel Pain — And How to Fix It

If your heels ache after a round — or those first few steps in the morning feel like you’re walking on broken glass — there’s a good chance it’s plantar fasciitis.

It’s one of the most common issues I see in golfers…

And it’s no surprise when you think about it:

✅️ You’re walking 6–8 miles each round 🏌️‍♂️

✅️ On uneven ground

✅️ In shoes that often don’t give your arches much support

Over time, that strain causes tiny tears in the tissue under your foot — and that’s where the heel pain begins.

The good news?
👉 It’s fixable.
With the right stretches, strengthening, and small changes to how you move — you can get back to walking 18 without the pain.

I’ve put together a free training showing golfers exactly how to start easing plantar fasciitis and keep playing pain-free.

🏌️‍♂️ Playing Through Winter? Keep Your Feet Happy on the Course ❄️

Many golfers hang up their clubs when the cold hits — but for those who love winter rounds, your feet take the brunt of the weather.

Here are a few podiatrist-approved tips to keep you comfortable (and injury-free) this winter:

👣 1️⃣ Keep your feet warm — but dry.
Cold, damp feet can lead to stiffness and pain. Choose moisture-wicking socks (not cotton!) and waterproof shoes with good grip.

👟 2️⃣ Check your shoe grip and cushioning.
Slippery lies and frozen ground increase stress through your heels and arches. If your golf shoes are more than two years old, check the sole traction and midsole support — worn shoes are a common cause of winter heel pain.

🧘‍♂️ 3️⃣ Warm up properly.
Cold muscles are less flexible. Spend 5–10 minutes doing gentle ankle circles, calf stretches and heel raises before you tee off.

🚶‍♂️ 4️⃣ Stay mobile between shots.
Standing still for long periods lets your feet cool quickly. A slow walk or a few heel-to-toe movements keep blood flowing and reduce stiffness.

💡 5️⃣ Don’t ignore early heel pain.
A twinge in winter can turn into full-blown plantar fasciitis by spring. Early rehab and footwear tweaks make all the difference.

If you’re already feeling that winter ache under your heel, my Heel Lab online course can help you recover and stay pain-free — so you’re ready for the next round, whatever the weather.

💧 Hydration & Heel Pain: The Overlooked Fix for Plantar Fasciitis

Most people focus on stretching, footwear, and rehab when tackling plantar fasciitis — but few realise how important hydration is for recovery.

Here’s why staying hydrated matters for your feet 👣

🥤 1️⃣ Your plantar fascia needs fluid to stay flexible.
The fascia under your foot is like a thick elastic band. When you’re dehydrated, it loses elasticity — making it stiffer, tighter, and more prone to micro-tears.

💦 2️⃣ Dehydration increases inflammation.
Low fluid levels can make tissues more irritated and slower to heal. Hydrated cells recover faster, reducing pain and swelling.

🚶‍♂️ 3️⃣ Even mild dehydration affects your performance.
On the course or during rehab, dehydration can lead to early fatigue and reduced muscle function — both of which increase stress on your heels.

💡 How much should you drink?
Aim for roughly 2 litres (6–8 glasses) of water a day — more if you’re active, sweating, or drinking caffeine.
A simple check: your urine should be pale yellow, not dark.

⚠️ Bonus tip:
Add a pinch of electrolyte salts or a hydration tablet if you’re exercising for long periods — water alone sometimes isn’t enough.

Small habits like staying hydrated can make a big difference when you’re healing plantar fasciitis. Combine it with the right exercises and load management, and you’ll get back to pain-free golf faster. ⛳

“Should I still be icing my heel?” 🤔

If you’ve been battling heel pain or plantar fasciitis, ice can be a great short-term fix — but it’s not a long-term solution.

✅ Use it during the first week to calm irritation and reduce soreness after golf or walking.
❌ After that, it’s time to switch focus to stretching, strengthening, and load management — that’s what helps the tissue actually heal and stay pain-free.

So think of ice as your first-aid tool, not your forever tool.
