ABOUT SHIVAUN

Shivaun is a published author and historian who has worked in both academic and community settings. As a trained counsellor, addictions specialist and constellator, she has worked extensively with individuals, families and groups. She lived and worked in the US before relocating to the UK in 2000. She was a community organiser with the Miami Dade Community Anti-Drug Coalition where she worked with local faith communities to address issues of youth violence, drug addiction and domestic abuse. As a counsellor in the Spectrum Rehabilitation Drug Program, she was engaged with case management and family therapy services. Later, she became director of Regis House which offered a comprehensive programme for at-risk youth, overseeing counselling, educational, psycho-social and health-related services for youth and their families. As a Senior Tutor at Goldsmiths, University of London, Shivaun was responsible for the development and delivery of a 2 year programme, which included the following components: apprenticeship/placement scheme, counselling, community and youth work studies, and individual and group counselling sessions. Shivaun's qualifications include a Phd in History (University of Sussex) and B.A. in Social Work and Counselling (Union Institute Miami). She is a certified Systemic Constellations practitioner/ Constellator and trained with Gaye Donaldson, Judith Hemming, Chris Williams and Jutta ten Herkel at the Centre for Systemic Constellations UK, with Ruud Knaapen in Systemic Horse Assisted Coaching (Wind Organisatieontwikkeling Netherlands) and with Emma Ross as an EAPD (Equine Assisted Personal Development) facilitator (Intuitive Horse UK). ​She is a member of The Complementary Medical Association UK (CMA), International Systemic Constellations Association (ISCA) and Accredited Counsellors, Coaches, Psychotherapists, and Hypnotherapists (ACCPH). In the quiet halls of a hospital in Calais, France…
a remarkable soul walks on four hooves.

His name is Peyo.
Not a doctor. Not a nurse.
But a 15-year-old stallion with a heart that listens… and a gift science still struggles to explain.

He doesn’t wait for instructions.
He decides.
When he senses someone nearing the end of their journey,
he stops.
He lifts his leg.
He gently knocks with his hoof outside the door—
as if to say, “May I come in?”

And when he enters, the room changes.
Time slows.
Hands reach out. Eyes soften.
The weight of pain, of fear, of goodbye—
suddenly, it’s shared.

They call him Doctor Peyo.
But he carries no stethoscope.
Only comfort.
Only presence.

He doesn’t speak.
He doesn’t need to.

About Shivaun

Using systemic constellation therapeutic model, counselling practises and spiritual frameworks, and working with your ancestors, your deep inherent knowing and your intention, ​Shivaun can help you to clarify your purpose, overcome blocks and create opportunities for movement. She has worked extensively with individuals, families and groups and has taught in both academic and community settings. She is a trained addictions specialist, a certified Systemic Constellations practitioner and also conducts equine-assisted constellations. She is a registered member of Complementary Medical Association (CMA) and International Systemic Constellations Association (ISCA). Insurance ZUR-CMA/17/04/189. Shivaun holds a BA in Counselling and Social Work (Union Institute Miami), an MA in Life Histories and a Phd in History (University of Sussex). She has served as Senior Tutor on the Youth and Community Work programme at Goldsmiths College, Visiting Lecturer in Creative and Life Writing at Florida International University and has since facilitated writing and creative workshops in a wide range of educational and community settings including: hospices, prisons, youth centres, addiction facilities, universities, colleges and schools and has developed specialized arts initiatives for marginalized youth, Holocaust survivors, migrant farm workers and others.

Shivaun conducts systemic constellation sessions by appointment, either in person or on the phone. She also facilitates horse guided systemic sessions on her small farm in Robertsbridge, East Sussex, with her herd of rescue horses.
