The Lymphatic system is part of the immune system, and works closely alongside the circulatory system π©Έ
It is made up of a complex network of lymphatic vessels, tissues, organs, glands and lymph.
Why work the lymphatic system?
By working the lymphatic system, alongside other related reflexes it may help improve its functioning, such as removing excess fluid from tissues within the body, and helping with immune support.
π©ΈA key player in the lymphatic system is the spleen. The spleen has a number of functions from storing blood cells, to controlling the levels of red/white blood cells, making new lymphocytes, to producing antibodies to protect against infection.
The spleen sits on the left foot in reflexology between the waist and diaphragm line, towards the lateral edge of the foot.
β’ Fun fact- while the spleen is an important organ, you can survive without it, as the liver can take over many of its functions. The liver is a critical organ important for a myriad of functions.
