Today is my last official day working within the NHS 🤍
And honestly… it’s a strange one.
Because being a mental health nurse isn’t just a job, it becomes part of who you are. Supporting people at their most vulnerable, advocating when they can’t, and building trust in moments that truly matter.
The NHS & the patients I have cared for has shaped me in ways I will carry forever.
But this next chapter? It’s one I’ve built with intention.
As an independent aesthetics nurse prescriber, I’m bringing that same level of care, safety, and ethics into aesthetics, an industry that, at times, forgets the importance of exactly that.
For me, this was never about “just” aesthetics.
It’s about
• Truly listening to patients
• Understanding confidence on a deeper level
• Creating natural, undetectable results
• And always putting patient safety first
Because confidence isn’t created by overfilling or over-treating, it’s built through trust, subtlety, and doing things properly.
There are definitely mixed emotions today… gratitude, pride, a little sadness.

My Journey... First and forth most I am a mummy to my beautiful children Joel & Zach, a wife to my wonderful husband Glyn, a daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, god daughter... need I go on! I am a qualified mental health nurse which is something which I am absolutely passionate about and I am a self employed aesthetics nurse.
I consider myself to be kind hearted, hard working and a cheer leader to others, I believe it is fundamental to believe in others potential particularly at times when they may have little confidence in themselves. I am a glass half full kind of person, don’t get me wrong I have my off days, don’t we all, but I try to keep a positive mindset.
In 2015, I had my first little boy Joel, he is growing into the most caring and funny soul you could ever meet. I had been thinking of training in aesthetics for a while and towards the end of my maternity leave took a leap of faith and invested in training, I decided to name my business The Aesthetics Company. I started working on a self employed basis alongside local salons and built up a steady client base. I did this alongside my job as a mental health nurse.
In January 2018 I had my little boy Zach, just before he was born I applied for the masters level non medical prescribing course at Liverpool John Moores University, not really believing I would get on the course, I thought...well I will just apply and see.
In spring 2018 I teamed up with Kara and Sandra at a local salon, Beauty on the square, in Ruthin. I had previously traveled to other salons aways from my hometown and continued to travel to Havana hair and beauty in Flint who's support has been unwavering from the beginning. However, I asked myself the question why I wasn't offering treatments locally? I decided to expand my treatment selection from cosmetic injectables into skincare treatments including dermaplaning.
I hadn't heard anything for months about the non medical prescribing course and resided myself to the fact I probably hadn't been accepted onto the course as it is competitive, then in July 2018 I received an email saying that I had been successful! Now I just needed to pass the 100% pass numeracy exam!
After a full evaluation of my business, I started to believe “the aesthetics company” seemed too corporate and not very personable. I felt that maybe I had been hiding behind this name, so I deiced to rename my business “Emma Louisa Aesthetics” to add a personal touch which is what I aim to offer each and everyone of my clients.
Then in February 2019 I found out I had PASSED the non medical prescribing course with distinction! In utter disbelief I can now use this qualification both in my professional and personal development as a nurse.
I have many ideas and I am working in collaboration with the girls at beauty on the square, I am now offering a range of treatments including wrinkle relaxing injections, dermal filler, lip enhancement, dermaplaing, Dermaceutic chemical peels, microneedling & meso therepy. I have more recently started working alongside the girls at Pure beauty and aesthetics in Rhuddlan and will be offering regular clinics. I believe in evidence based and safe practice alongside good customer service using quality products, which I will be bringing to Pure.
I have been asked why I do what I do...the honest answer is I do what I do to provide the best life for my children, cliche i know, but it is true! I love skincare and I believe Mental health problems have a effect on people both emotionally and physically and this can show on peoples complexion. I believe everyone has the right to look and feel as good as they possibly can to improve confidence from the inside out.
I want to help as many people as possible love the skin they are in.
