Trauma isn’t always the big, obvious moments. Sometimes it’s quiet… living in the held breath, the shallow chest breathing, the inability to exhale fully.
It shows up in the body long before we have words for it. Your nervous system remembers what your mind tries to forget and sometimes, the path back to safety starts with something as simple as breathing differently. Not to fix or erase what happened, but to gently remind your body: you’re here now. You’re safe now.
