This week is National Epilepsy week.

Swipe across ➡️ to learn more about epilepsy

If you notice someone having a seizure you should:

📞Call for emergency services
⏱️Time the seizure
⚠️Remove and hazards that could cause injury
🤕Cushion around their head to prevent injury
⛑️Once the seizure has stopped check for breathing and roll them into the recovery position

‼️don’t put anything in their mouth and don’t try to restrain them.

Level 3 Supervising First Aid for Mental Health -
is aimed at those who hold a supervisory/managerial level position and who have responsibility for implementing a positive mental health culture and responsibility for First Aid for Mental Health within an organisation

Level 2 First Aid for Mental Health - designed to help employers to provide a positive mental health culture within the workplace and to provide learners with comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions and the skills to be able to act should a condition be suspected

1 day Emergency First Aid at Work - an engaging course where the learner will learn the skills to save a life when emergency first aid is needed and to provide initial care to serious injuries

3 hour Appointed Person/Basic Life Support - a practical course where the learners will practice the skills needed to deliver life saving first aid

Something we’ve all felt before. So when do we take fatigue as a symptom of illness or injury? Here’s some questions to ask:

Does your casualty suffer any medical conditions?
Has your casualty banged their head in the last day or so?
Has your casualty eaten or drank recently?
Has your casualty been exposed to extreme temperatures?
Is it normal for your casualty to feel this way?
