Three different lifts, with three different outcomes. On each occasion he lifted the load, but there were fundamental mistake in the start position and ex*****on. It took him 20 seconds toto make the adjustment when I showed him the video. The outcome.....he could have lifted that weight with one arm.

Continuing on with sharing some of my A-Team members stories and journey to the wider world, today I have the great pleasure of introducing Nicola McGuire to you all. What can I say about this fantastic lady that even gets close to truly demonstrating my inner affection, respect and admiration that I have for her.

Nicola’s journey began at my Legs ,Bum and Tums class at Eccles with the rest of the amazing Eccles crew and what a class that is. It transcend from this class to all of my advanced morning classes, which she is now a regular participant. Cardio Mayhem, Total Body Conditioning and Strength and Conditioning including the infamous Cali workouts. These are tough workouts, classes not for the faint hearted, but with self-belief, determination and plenty of positive praise you can achieve anything and get the results you pay for. No one judges here, we are one family, we welcome you with open arms. Don’t be afraid, trust me when I say this” you can do anything, if you believe you can”.

What I love so much about this lady is she not intimidated, she got the heart of a Lioness, she focuses on her own development, she tries her socks off. Never complains; Runs, jumps, lifts and pushes those boundaries with a smile and a forceful glee in her eyes. An important cog in my team, respected and admired by all her training colleagues for her spirit and motivation.

I’m so happy you weren’t afraid to try, not intimidated or put off, to give it a go and believe in yourself as I believe in you. Well done my mate. Keep up the hardwork, you are amazing!

I will always push and blow my teams trumpet. You are the only people that matter. Without you guys there is no Barrie Holmes Personal Training and Nutritional Advice. I will give you everything and more to take you to new heights and successes, loyalty is my maxim., belief in yourself should be yours.

What I so love about these Sunday morning workshops, is the team are always highly motivated to learn and develop their performance. It’s so easy for me every week, their a pleasure to be around. We mess around now and then, a little bit of banter, but ultimately training is serious and we are there for the same reasons. To develop our Athletic Performance to make us better than we were the week before. Well it’s a simple model, to enable that to happen.

Currently the game is all about building raw strength in a dynamic and integrated fashion using isolation and complex movement. Strength is built on the bedrock of a simple principle- progressive overload. Combine that with good technique (form) and a few tricks and before you know it, well you are turning heads kids.

I’ve always had an innate eye for spotting little game changers in technique and this morning I past on a few little adjustment to peoples A game- put the egos and arrogance away, plenty of other shops out there for that nonsense, open you ears and eyes and a miracle doesn’t need to happen, it will just happen. I’ve got girls in the team that don’t realise how brilliant they are and how amazing they will become, I’ve got fellas of all ages that will eat up most 20 year olds and their journey continues full throttle.

Finally a couple of the gang today on the Olympic lifts demonstrated their ability to learn and adjust quickly and what an outcome. One lady said: ‘it’s to heavy I can’t lift it.’ You can’t lift it because the technique is not there, but it will come, keep working at it. Show me again with the things I’ve just highlighted to you. Boom….. it became 50% better in 30 seconds She could have put another 10kg on that bar and lifted it with ease.

This year I would like to introduce some of my amazing team to you all. Some attend my classes, others get put through their paces with a one on one 'Personal Training' session. Others take on my Nutritional plans and assessments.

This is their story, the journey, the legacy and inspirational path they have taken with me.

First up, the wonderful Margaret Meredith or as I like to call her 'The 'Masher" This amazing lady has some mobility issues and has had limited success with conventional therapies, so she gave me a chance and we have never looked back. An great example of what can be achieved with belief, desire and raw motivation.

The training we do is fab- full of energy, fun, laughter and few 'Christopher Columbus'moments. We concentrate on some demanding sitdown workout routines that challenge Mashers strength and endurance. Always enthusiastic and hardworking, she is testimony to what steely determination can achieve. At the end of every session we don the gloves and pads and float like a butterfly and sting like a bee. Boy can this lady bash!

I'm immensely proud to have her as a client and a true friend. We have some incredible chats and I love turning up every week. Be proud of what you do, keep the fighting spirit going and here's to more bashings with the Basher going forward.

What a performance from these fine ladies this morning at Cardio Mayhem. 30 minutes of intense training that pushed those boundaries and tested those energy systems to the max.

Combining speedwork, agility fundamentals, explosive power anaerobic and aerobic capacity drills this lot are always game. Whatever I throw at them, they hit the mark week after week.

Proud to call them The Chief's Angels. Fiercely committed, high focussed, loyal and dedicated to improving their athletic performance- They are an integral cog in the A Team- fit, strong and powerful. Keep it up ladies, you bring a smile to my face weekly.

Every Tuesday we push the barriers to new heights, with unique principles of sport science through tough and rigorous training exercises.

If you are bored of pounding that pavement or the monotony of the same old gym routine then join an incredible team on a never ending journey of success.

Calisthenics Movement and Stretch is at the pinnacle of the fitness industry chain of amazing result driven workouts. A must inclusion in any weekly training routine. Yes its hard, but hard training gives measurable, continuous results. The challenges are always there, once you master a progression, you move on to a more advanced variation. Never staying the same, always climbing the ladder of development and improvement.

With perseverance and dedication and regular attendance you will become stronger , more flexible and a fat burning machine .Its an absolute game changer!

What a performance this morning and what a team. Brilliant effort by all on the’ Big One Fifty’ Team Challenge- nothing easy here kids. An absolute belter.

Finished off with ‘piece de resistance’- Calisthenics and stretch…..that hip and core challenge, 7m and 41secs of hell.
