Today we are introducing our Funeral Service Specialist

Sara Davies

Hi Sara,

How long have you worked in the funeral industry?

I am relatively new, I have been here around 5 months now.

What inspired you to become a funeral service specialist?

I have always had an interest in funeral services , but after I lost my dad last year the treatment we received as a family confirmed to me this industry is where I want to work. I can honestly say I have never looked back.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

It's helping the families I work with to create the send of that they want for their loved one, and delivering the best service I can for them.

How do you create a personal and meaningful farewell?

I listen carefully to the family when they are describing their loved one and their lives, and try to incorporate their interests in some way, whether that is a picture on their name plate or for example recently with the families consent we arranged for our funeral service operatives to each wear a flat cap to the funeral of a farmer who was never seen without his cap.

What do you do outside of work?

I read alot and enjoy spending time with my family and my dogs.

Lastly and most importantly.... Tea or Coffee?

Definitely coffee with oat milk please 😄

I have always been drawn towards helping people, I am grateful to be able to support families at one of their most difficult times.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

It's knowing that a family can completely put their trust in me to arrange the best sendoff possible for their loved one.

How do you help create a personal and meaningful farewell?

It is important to listen to the families; this gives us an understanding of their preferred wishes, which enables us to create a funeral fitting for their loved one.

What do you like to do outside of work?

I like to make the most of my free time by meeting family and friends and going on holiday's
