👋 Hello from Hearts in the Stand ❤️

We’re still here, working hard behind the scenes, crossing the T’s and dotting the I’s to make sure everything is just right before we launch our community sessions.

🫀 Our CPR mannequins are on their way (YAY) (8 mannequins 3 children 2 babies, choking vests, 4 defibs)
🩸 We have a bleed control kit ready to use
⚡ We’ve got some training equipment including a defibrillator (3 mannequins and 1 defib)

Now we’re just waiting for the final pieces to arrive so we can deliver the best possible training for our community.

As soon as everything lands, we’ll be:
📅 Opening our diary
🏫 Booking in schools and community groups
🚑 Delivering lifesaving sessions across Sandwell

This is about doing it properly, safely, and with impact because every session we deliver could help save a life.

🎉 WE DID IT! 🎉

Today is a huge milestone for Hearts in the Stand ❤️

Thanks to the support of Sandwell Council through Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) funding, the money has officially landed and we are already putting it to work!

🫀 CPR training mannequins have been ordered
🩸 Bleed control kits are on the way
🚑 Community lifesaving training is about to begin

This funding allows us to start delivering vital skills across our community helping people feel confident to act in an emergency and potentially save a life.

To everyone who has supported us, encouraged us, and believed in this mission, thank you. This is only the beginning.

Together we are building a community of lifesavers.

At Hearts in the Stand, we believe that when young people are given the right opportunities, they can truly thrive. 💪

We’re proud to support and promote Moves Different, a funded programme designed for young people aged 13–18 who may be at risk of crime, violence, or anti-social behaviour.

Through the power of boxing and gym-based activity, this initiative helps young people build:

Programmes like this show how sport, mentorship, and community support can change lives.

Yesterday, in a meeting, a little “Positive Pickle” was given to me.

“There’s no one in the world that is just like you, and that makes you very special.”

And it made me reflect on why we created Hearts in the Stand.

Hearts in the Stand wasn’t built just to teach CPR.
It wasn’t built just to deliver first aid.
It was built on belief.
Belief that ordinary people can do extraordinary things.
Belief that confidence saves lives.
Belief that communities become stronger when they feel empowered, not helpless.

Every time we teach someone how to respond in an emergency, we aren’t just teaching a skill, we’re building courage.
Every time someone says, “I didn’t think I could do that,” and then they do, that’s positivity in action.

In communities like ours, where challenges are real and resources can feel stretched, mindset matters. If people believe they can step forward instead of stand back, everything changes.

You are more capable than you think.
You are more powerful than you realise.
And you might just be the reason someone gets a second chance.

That’s the strength of positivity.
That’s the heart behind Hearts in the Stand. 💚

Any CPR is better than none. ❤️

Yesterday reminded me that when you step forward to make a difference, not everyone will clap.
But here’s what matters…
If one child learns CPR.
If one parent feels confident enough to act.
If one life is given a fighting chance.
It’s all worth it.

Hearts in the Stand was built on heart, integrity, and community. We are fully compliant, fully registered, and fully committed to doing this properly, because our community deserves that.

At Hearts In The Stand, we’ve been working tirelessly behind the scenes to bring lifesaving CPR training and community empowerment to every corner of our area.
We’ve had incredible support, guidance, and encouragement, but as many will know, funding takes time.

Did you know that women are significantly less likely to receive CPR in public than men?

Research shows this isn’t because people don’t care!
it’s because they’re afraid of doing the wrong thing, being accused of inappropriate touching, or causing harm.

Let’s be absolutely clear:
💙 CPR is gender-neutral
💙 CPR saves lives
💙 Doing something is always better than doing nothing
💙 The law protects people who act in good faith to save a life

When someone collapses and is not breathing, they are already clinically dead.
CPR gives them a chance, hesitation takes it away.
At Hearts in the Stand, we are breaking myths, building confidence, and empowering communities to act when it matters most.
