This morning we welcomed our toddler visitors to Outram Fields for an Easter-themed session. 🐣

The children joined residents for a little Easter hunt around the lounge, followed by some fruit snacks and a lively round of nursery rhymes together.

Visits like these are always a highlight. Spending time with younger generations brings plenty of smiles, encourages conversation and creates lovely shared moments for our residents and the children alike. 💛

A Gorgeous Trip to the Hidden Gem Café ☕🌼

A small group of our residents enjoyed a wonderful morning out with Ellen and Daisy at The Hidden Gem Cafe for coffee and cake.

With the glorious sunshine, we took the scenic route back home through the beautiful Peak District. The countryside was simply stunning — daffodils popping up everywhere and lots of adorable lambs in the fields. 🌼🐑

A huge thank you to hiddengemcafe for being so incredibly helpful and going the extra mile to make our visit so special. It truly was a morning to remember! 💛

We were absolutely delighted to welcome Trish from Choirology for her very first visit to our home this morning, where she began helping us form our very own choir! 🎶

There was a real buzz of excitement as residents came together, some a little shy at first, but all quickly swept up in the joy of singing as a group. Trish made everyone feel relaxed and included, and before long the room was filled with smiles, laughter, and beautiful music.

Being part of a choir has so many wonderful benefits for wellbeing. Singing together can:
✨ Lift mood and reduce stress
✨ Support memory and cognitive function
✨ Encourage deeper breathing and relaxation
✨ Build confidence
✨ Strengthen social connections and reduce feelings of loneliness

Most importantly, it brings people together and creates a true sense of belonging — something we value so much in our home.

A huge thank you to Trish for such a fantastic first session. We can’t wait for the next one as our choir continues to grow! 🎵💛

☕🧩 Afternoon Games & Friendship 🧩☕

There’s always plenty of chatter and laughter in our café as residents enjoy mini quizzes, word searches and sudoku — keeping minds active while having lots of fun together!

Some of our residents have also learnt how to play a new game, Qwirkle. They’ve decided it’s the perfect mix of Rummikub and Dominoes — two firm favourites here at Outram Fields!

It’s wonderful to see residents trying new games and enjoying time together 💛

One-to-One Gardening Time 🥕🌿

Today, one of our residents enjoyed some special one-to-one time in the garden, focusing on our wonderful vegetable patch. With care and patience, they discovered our carrots were ready to be harvested!

Together, we carefully pulled them from the soil, gave them a thorough scrub and peeled them to perfection. It was a lovely, meaningful activity that sparked conversation, reminiscence and a real sense of achievement.

The freshly prepared carrots were then proudly delivered to Dean in the kitchen, who has a delicious plan in mind for them. We can’t wait to see how they’re transformed!

A calm and purposeful afternoon, filled with pride and accomplishment. 💚

🌿 Therapeutic Trips Out 🌿

We’ve recently been enjoying some lovely morning trips to Boundary Outlet! Residents have enjoyed café lunches or coffee and cake, and a relaxing mooch around the shop — with the chance to pick up a little something special too.

It’s been the perfect way to brighten up these rainy days ☔ and enjoy getting out and about around Sheffield, seeing the familiar places we know and love.

Fresh air, friendly faces, and plenty of smiles all round 💛

🧀🍷 Cheese & Wine with Pierre 🍷🧀

The afternoon we’ve all been waiting for! Pierre treated us to a wonderful selection of cheeses, perfectly paired with a range of wines to match. It was a fantastic opportunity to bring everyone together, with plenty of smiles, conversations, and shared moments around the table.

We’re so proud to see friendships growing and our community coming together. As Outram Fields continues to grow, we’re excited to welcome more residents into our much-loved home and share many more moments like this 💛

What a wonderful afternoon we had out on the terrace! 🌞

Our residents wrapped up warm and, alongside carers Paige and Zach, enjoyed a packed afternoon full of fresh air, laughter and teamwork. In great team spirit, we played parachute and ball games, tried our hand at ring toss and other fun throwing activities – all made even more magical with plenty of bubbles floating through the air to keep the smiles going. 🫧

After all that activity, we enjoyed a well-earned tea and biscuit break together on the terrace. ☕🍪 There’s nothing better than a cuppa, a sweet treat and good company to round off a fun-filled afternoon.

A perfect day filled with fresh air, friendship and plenty of smiles! 💚

Spring is beginning to make an appearance, and our latest art session was all about celebrating the arrival of the daffodils 🌼

Residents enjoyed a relaxed afternoon of colouring and watercolours, bringing their bright yellow blooms to life. Creative activities like this are far more than simply time at the table – they help maintain fine motor skills, support concentration and offer a wonderful opportunity for conversation and shared enjoyment.

With the garden just beyond the window and daffodils on the page, it certainly felt like a gentle nod to the season ahead.

At Outram Fields, everyday moments are thoughtfully designed to be both meaningful and enjoyable.

What a peaceful and uplifting Sunday here at Outram Fields ☀️🌿

This morning, residents gathered in our cinema room to watch the beautiful service from the Church of England — a lovely time for reflection, connection and quiet thought.

With the gorgeous sunshine calling us outside, we then made the most of our wonderful third-floor terrace. Garden gloves were dusted off as residents enjoyed watering, weeding, and preparing the planters — all ready to get planting again soon! 🌼🌱

To round off the day, we settled back into the cinema room for a film, complete with cake and coffee — the perfect ending to a glorious Sunday. 🎬☕🍰

On the night of 11th March, members of the team at Outram Fields will be sleeping outside on our ground floor terrace.

We’ll be swapping our warm beds for sleeping bags for one night to raise money for Frenchville & District Royal British Legion — keeping our fundraising local and supporting veterans within our own community.

Many of the residents we care for have lived through wartime, completed National Service, or have family members who have served. Supporting those who have given so much feels especially meaningful to us.

Last year, our team took part in the Great Tommy Sleep Out. This year, we wanted to ensure the money raised stays right here in our local area, helping veterans and their families who may need support.

All funds raised through this page will be transferred directly to Frecheville & District Royal British Legion following the event.

By sponsoring our terrace sleep out, you’ll be helping Frenchville & District RBL to:

Provide welfare support to local veterans

Assist families in times of need

Continue vital community work for those who served

Every donation, big or small, makes a real difference.

Thank you for helping us turn one cold night into something positive for our local heroes.
