✨ The Millennium Bridge – London ✨

Snapped these shots of the Macalloy tie bars doing what they are engineered to do. These sleek steel rods help keep the bridge stable while preserving its iconic minimalist look.
🔍 Fun fact: When the bridge first opened in 2000, it started to wobble unexpectedly due to pedestrian footfall syncing up—a phenomenon called synchronous lateral excitation. It was quickly nicknamed the “Wobbly Bridge” and had to be retrofitted with dampers to fix the issue. Now it’s a global case study in dynamic engineering!

🌞 Macalloy Goes Solar!
We’ve just installed 656 solar panels on the roof of our UK manufacturing facility—generating up to 295 kWh of clean energy and reducing our carbon footprint by 400 tonnes every year.
That’s the equivalent of:
🌳 Planting over 18,000 trees
🚗 Taking 85 cars off the road annually
🏠 Powering around 75 homes with renewable energy
This is a huge step in our sustainability journey, and we’re proud to be investing in a greener future for manufacturing and construction.
