Pilates is a whole body and mind workout, concentrating on the principles set out by Joseph Pilates: Concentration, Core Centring, Control, Flow, Precision and Breathing. Each workout starts with the main focus the posture, we achieve ideal posture by engaging our core and controlling our breathing, while working our way through the main part of the workout, which aims to strengthen and stretch all other areas of our body, while maintaining our core stability and breathing, completing the workout we finish with a relaxation to help us escape from the stresses of everyday life. Legs, Bums and Tums, as the name suggests we work all the areas of the body from stomach down, after warming the body up we work through a range of exercises to strengthen and tone these muscles, varying the workout each week, to target different areas, the aim is to reshape your body. You may also find you get slightly out of breath during this workout, which will also help to burn those calories, so make sure you bring a towel and water bottle! Body Toning is much like Legs, Tums and Bums, but we also work the upper body, toning those problem areas like the back of the arms and the back. All classes are for all abilities, I'll offer alternatives to make sure everyone can achieve the most the class.
