We’re still busy supporting this at Connecting Well
Each year, our Community Fundraiser Deborah works with volunteers and the local community to knit, donate, and host Knitted Novelties. Volunteers like Rosje and Barbara keep the collection boxes full and bring the campaign to life.
The campaign began over 11 years ago when volunteer Glenis spotted three knitted rabbits in a magazine and thought, “I can do better!” Since then, it has grown into a beloved community tradition, featuring quirky creations like unicorns, rabbits in waistcoats, and even bunnies holding carrots or footballs.
“Knitting is very therapeutic, and it’s lovely to sit with a cup of tea and biscuits while creating. Chickens are a good place to start, while rabbits can take a couple of hours to complete,” shares Barbara.
Rosje adds, “It’s amazing to see the community come together. Every novelty, every egg, and every host location makes a real difference to St Barnabas and the families we support.”
Get involved and make a difference this spring!!
Donate Easter eggs, craft knitted or crocheted chicks, or host a collection box - every contribution helps St Barnabas care for patients and families across Lincolnshire 💛
