Jess’ story is a big part of why I’ve mixed “online” and “in-person” training.
When we first worked together, everything was done face-to-face.
We trained for over a year. Her strength improved, the sessions progressed, and most importantly — her confidence grew.
That in-person phase mattered.
It gave her a base.
It taught her how movements should feel.
It removed the fear of “doing it wrong.”
Life eventually got busy (as it does). Training paused for a while, and without structure or support, things slowly slipped — which is something I see all the time with busy adults.
When Jess came back, we trained online.
And it worked, if anything her results were probably even better this time around—
not because online training is magic, but because it was built on a strong foundation and backed up with a clear, simple plan and regular support.
That’s when the penny dropped for me.
Most beginners don’t need complicated workouts or flashy exercises.
They need:
• A plan that tells them exactly what to do
• Ongoing support so they don’t drift or give up
• And Someone to guide them early on
And if we’re being honest, to just hold their hand a bit while they’re trying something completely new.
That mix — hands-on help + a clear path + accountability — is what actually works in the real world.
And that’s exactly why my coaching is now hybrid.
If you’ve ever felt stuck between “I need help” and “I should be able to do this on my own,” you’re not broken — you just haven’t had the right setup yet.
