He’s the one who made me a mama, the one who taught me how to feel everything, how to follow my instincts, and how to love in a way that cracked my heart wide open.

Now I look at Jude and my heart swells with pride. He’s funny, sensitive and so beautifully kind. The most loving big brother. And as I watch him mature, I can’t help but feel excited for all the chapters still waiting to be written. I can’t wait to see his story unfold.

A birth day holds such deep meaning for a mama - the quiet moments of reflection, watching the clock, and remembering exactly what was unfolding this time last year.

Since her calm and gentle arrival Earthside, Adélaïde has found her place in our family so perfectly. It feels like she’s always been here.

Today isn’t the first birthday I’d imagined for her as it’s a quiet day at home with cuddles, Calpol and rest. As with most things in parenthood, things rarely go quite to plan!

But it’s still such a special day, full of love and gratitude for everything she is and all the joy she’s brought us this past year.

“I’m fine.”

It’s simple. It’s polite. It’s easy to say. But so often, it’s spoken by someone who’s not fine at all, someone quietly drowning in their sadness, holding it all together because they don’t want to be a burden.

Today is a gentle reminder that it’s okay to not be fine.
It’s okay to reach out, to cry, to ask for help. Check in with the people you love - really check in - because sometimes the smallest question and a little patience can open the door to healing.
