The fitness industry shines a bit darker today as one of our brightest lights shines up in heaven.
Today I have learnt of the sad news that Sonique has died but her legacy in lives on!
I first met Sonique in 2019 at a fitness convention in Blackpool, she can be seen teaching on the stage with that amazing afro! It was the first time i saw her teach and i remember watching her to this song and thinking what a woman! I wanted to be her to bring that same energy and love to people like she did and that moment probably planted the seed for my own fitness career.
Every time i hear this song i think of this moment, women of all shapes coming together for the love of exercise, music and glow sticks.
I will try and channel her energy in my next classes though it will be hard as there is only one Sonique!
Shine bright in heaven Sonique with that smile, that fabulous hair and glow sticks in hand.
