Supporting your child through school transitions

If your child is moving into Reception or Year 7, or has transitioned within the last two years we’d love to invite you to our SEND Transitions Information & Feedback Event on Wednesday 18th March 2026, 9:30am–1pm at Jarrow Focus.

This event is a chance to learn about current transition processes, hear what our local schools do to support transitions, and understand what to expect during key transition stages. You’ll also be able to share your family’s experiences in a positive, supportive space designed to help strengthen transition support for all children with SEND.

Your voice matters, together we can shape smoother, more effective transitions for families across South Tyneside.
