The birds are singing.
The sunrise is painted in shades of pink.
The air is crisp with a little chill.

Moments like this used to pass me by because my mind was racing… worrying about the day ahead.

The perfect moment for mindfulness and reflection while I wait for my next client ☕️

This morning, a nursery manager completed the STILL Method course.

Her feedback …..She said she now understands she was on the fast road to burnout.

Using the strategies hasn’t meant working less — in fact, quite the opposite. She’s now more effective in her leadership role. She’s learnt to delegate, to manage the setting rather than being caught on the perpetual hamster wheel of nursery life.

She’s become more present both at home and at work . More relaxed. And she’s starting to truly enjoy her life again.

This is wellbeing in the workplace.
Not an app.
Not a voice at the end of a phone.
But real conversations. Real awareness. Real, practical strategies that actually work.

Well, what a wet walk that was today — 3 miles around Arundel 🌧️

It was definitely an adventure 😉🥾☔️

There’s something about getting out in the rain that feels oddly recharging though.

Fresh air, moving your body, no distractions… just putting one foot in front of the other. Even when it’s soggy, it’s still soul-fuelling.

Sometimes recharging your batteries doesn’t look like spa days and candles — sometimes it’s muddy trainers, rosy cheeks and a good laugh at how soaked you are. Nature has a way of washing away the mental clutter and reminding you you’re alive.

Beach strolls, woodland wanders, views across to the Isle of Wight… and a promise of sunshine ☀️

Mud, puddles, fields, laughter, chats and plenty of giggles 💬😂

Two nutty spaniels 🐶🐶, the loveliest company, and truly stunning countryside 🌾

We chatted about my first experience of purposeful wintering this January — how allowing myself to retreat, restore and slow down helped me embrace winter, rather than feeling deprived of the sun. I’ve started to see it as a season to be welcomed, not wished away.

So now it’s February, maybe you could try it too — just for the month. Finish those projects you’ve been meaning to wrap up, read the books waiting patiently on the shelf, sort through photographs, list clothes on Vinted…

Embrace the month rather than simply waiting for summer days. They will come — but wintering deserves to be embraced first.

I start off protected from the wind and rain.
Then I lower my hood and begin a mindfulness practice.

You can see my face relax as I breathe.
