Injury self management🤸🏻♀️🏋🏻♀️😨
As many of my clients are probably bored of me telling them, injury prevention/ recovering from an injury is very dependent on your self management strategies. People are often confused by this and don’t know where to start!
Of course, how you manage your injury is going to vary massively depending on the type of injury you have. However I think there are some general rules that everyone can follow to help speed up recovery/ prevent further injury!
Keep it super simple by following some of these steps:
- Regularly use a foam roller for any tight areas that are causing pain! (I will add more foam rolling vids to my page soon)
- Strength and conditioning is everything!! This doesn’t have to be complex. Strengthen surrounding structures to help aid recovery / prevent injury of a problematic area.
- Adequate rest. Listen to your body!!! If things aren’t feeling right and your body is feeling sore - give yourself the rest you need. Overtraining is a very common reason people develop injuries.
