As a celebrant, I’m always on the lookout for venues that make love stories truly unforgettable — and Whaplode Manor is one of those places!

Their 19th-century barn frames two sides of a stunning, flower-filled courtyard, offering a beautiful and intimate backdrop for your ceremony. Your guests can explore inviting spaces like the light-filled conservatory, cosy lounge, or the upstairs gallery with vaulted beams and twinkling lights.

When it’s time to celebrate, there’s a spacious dance floor and fully stocked bar ready for the party to continue. I can’t recommend Whaplode Manor enough — it’s perfect for weddings or vow renewals that feel magical and personal.

The UK is set for its biggest wedding law reform in nearly 200 years, giving couples in England and Wales greater freedom over where and how they marry. The proposed changes will allow ceremonies in almost any “safe and dignified” location and recognise a wider range of officiants, including Humanist celebrants. These reforms will finally align England and Wales with Scotland’s more flexible, inclusive marriage system — where couples have enjoyed this freedom for decades. Northern Ireland, however, still lags behind with more restrictive rules. For couples, the new laws promise simpler, fairer, and more personal ceremonies that truly reflect their values and beliefs. I visited Thetford Farm Barn today and honestly fell a little bit in love with the place! It’s such a gorgeous mix of rustic charm and modern style, surrounded by peaceful countryside — the perfect setting for a relaxed, romantic wedding. The barns have been beautifully restored, keeping all that lovely 18th-century character while still feeling light, fresh, and elegant.

As a wedding celebrant, I could instantly picture how amazing ceremonies would be here — there are so many lovely indoor and outdoor spots to choose from. It’s such a flexible space and really does feel like a blank canvas for couples to make their day their own.

A big thank you to Georgia for showing me around — she was so welcoming and really brought the place to life.

It’s right on my doorstep too, which makes it even better! I’d be thrilled to work here in the future and will definitely be recommending Thetford Farm Barn to my couples. It’s a real gem in South Lincolnshire!
