✨ WEDNESDAY WISDOM✨ When the days turn colder and the duvet feels like the only place you want to be, taking time for yourself can start to feel like a luxury — or even a bit of a battle. But this season is actually the perfect time to honour one of yoga’s quiet teachings: Tapas.
Not the fiery, hardcore version — but the softer, wintery kind. The small acts of discipline that keep you connected to yourself. The gentle effort it takes to step out of the house, roll out your mat (doesn’t have to be outside, our studio space will suffice!), and choose presence over autopilot. Tapas isn’t about pushing; it’s about tending the inner flame, especially when the world outside is chilly and dim.
And then there’s Ahimsa — kindness, including towards yourself. Taking time for your practice, your breath, your body, isn’t selfish. It’s an act of care. When you pause to fill your own cup — in a cosy, warm studio, wrapped in soft lighting and community energy — you walk back out into life steadier, softer, and more able to give from a genuine place.
So if you’re feeling the temptation to hibernate (totally normal!), remember this:
Sometimes the bravest, kindest thing you can do is show up for you.
Five minutes, fifty minutes — it all counts.
Your winter self will thank you for every moment you carve out to reconnect.
