We often label our fears, by saying we are scared of this and that

In reality we are not actually scared of anything

We are fearful about what might happen

It might feel temporarily good to say we are not scared of anything, but in actuality being scared is a normal human emotion

When we accept our fear we are able to comfort ourself and gain clarity on what we are truly afraid of

One of the reasons, is our fear of the past repeating itself

Naturally, we all make mistakes in our past

and it doesn't mean it'll happen again but our minds can only see the past 🤔

The process of letting go can be hard 😔

1. Feel the feeling - This means trying to let the feeling flow within you without resisting it

2. Try not to become it - As you feel the feeling, it is easy to get pulled into the emotion, try to observe it without letting it consume you

3. Witness it - This follows from the 2nd point, by witnessing it you are observing the feeling without resisting the emotion. As if you are watching it play out within you

4. Allow it - The emotion that you are trying to let go of may be uncomfortable. Let that be, and embrace it. This uncomfortable feeling will eventually be replaced.

5. Release it - How do you know when you have released it? Well, you will feel relief, a big nice sigh followed by some relaxation. If it's a heavy emotion, perhaps you'll release it a little at a time, but eventually, by following this process you will let it go.

By letting go we enable ourselves to:

Move forward.

Not let the past control/dictate our behaviour.

Be less likely to project our own issues.

Although it can be difficult, letting go is a fundamental aspect of life!

We may not know how to solve it immediately

As we commit to working on ourselves, these problems become somewhat lighter

This isn't because the problems have become easier

But you have developed mental, emotional and physical strength 💪

As we become more resilient we can handle difficult circumstances with more clarity, calmness and rational

Today’s post is about managing desire 💭

As we learnt last week, desires can become endless and vary in intensity

When we begin to manage our desires, our superficial ones start to fall away

We are then left with the desires that indicate what we really want

Buddha says that “Life without desire, is a life without sorrow” 🤔

What does that mean?

The feeling of desire can be motivating, especially when we really want it

However, when it becomes obsessive every waking moment without that desire feels like endless sorrow

Ideally, we want to manage our desires so we don’t obsess over them, but try hard enough to achieve the ones that matter most

It is up to us to understand and accept that we won’t get everything we want, and we can live by trying our best

Ultimately whatever is meant to be, will be 🤝

Hey Everyone! 🧡🤝

This post was posted during Mental Health awareness week 🧠

Feeling lonely can be highly daunting

This post shows some of the ways we can overcome loneliness

We as a species are social beings, and we crave to have interactions

Although it might seem that you need to have a whole load of friends and family to be able to see at any time of the day – this is not the case

By interactions, it could simply mean having a conversation with a stranger – it could be at the park, at the coffee shop or even at a supermarket

These interactions can give us the socialising we need, even if it is a brief conversation

Next time you’re on a walk or a jog, give yourself a prompt to wave or say hello to someone

When you’re next in a queue to pay, ask the cashier or someone in the queue about their day

Although it may feel like you’re alone, you’re not. We are a chance encounter away from making a whole new set of friends!

Feeling lonely can be extremely daunting

Although it may feel like you’re alone, you’re not. We are a chance encounter away from making a new set of friends!

In times like this, it's extra important to tell yourself you are loved and this too will pass…💚👊
