Oh I love my job!

Gorgeous Ted came through to an arena hire at the weekend, with me jumping on for his session.

His first outing in a while. Still a young boy, just recently came back into work with his owner, who is going a fab job with him. Little legend. He schooled lovely 🥰 Lindsay Barrie

🗓️ This beautiful big 30x60 arena is available for hire, near Haggs. Pm me if anyone is looking to check availability

Lovely Mali after her clip last week 🥰

Such a nice colour!
Also, her spots were so satisfying to clip over. She’s a sensitive girly, so I’m excited to see how she gets on next time after her seeming to enjoy her clipping experience.

Bringing horses back into work 👀

Some horses are quiet enough that you can just jump back on board after weeks off. That’s great…

But how does that actually benefit the horse?

I’m a big believer in building their strength and fitness back up first — especially if the time off was due to injury. Their muscles, tendons and overall condition need time to readjust before carrying a rider again.

I swear by long reining 🙌🏻
You have so much more control over how the horse is working and moving, and you can actually see what’s going on. It allows you to:

• Rebuild topline and core strength
• Encourage correct movement without the weight of a rider
• Spot stiffness or unevenness early
• Ease them back mentally as well as physically

A gradual, correct build-up now prevents problems later. This is something I can teach clients how to do, or I offer long reining sessions.

Slow and steady always wins in the long run 🐎

Look who’s joined the Bankend gang

Seamus 🥰

He’s had some time off recently, so this is him coming back into work. I think he’s feeling good about this idea 😍

Zazzu was certainly happy to see him again! Their bromance is back on

💔 Paddy - Imperial HBF

It was an honour and privilege to have known and worked with this amazing horse at Kypehall. He was a beautiful boy with a huge personality and he was incredibly talented. Everyone knew he was a special!

I was always mesmerised watching him jump! It was amazing to see him doing so well, and he LOVED his job. Condolences to his owners/family and anyone who cared for him ❤️

RIP Paddy 🌈

Hamish coming along very nicely 🧡

He absolutely loves working, and I can feel that I’ve earned his trust. It’s the best feeling when working with horses, extremely rewarding.

💭 When a horse trusts you, they don’t just do the work, they offer it. They become willing. They try to please. They relax into learning and actually enjoy the process.

Thats what makes a partnership.

Also, tell them they are amazing! Let them know they’re doing good 🌟 and listen to them when they tell you that they don’t understand.

🐴 Pick your own clinic anyone 🐴

Exciting news!! I am organising a training clinic for horse owners and riders with sessions that can be tailored to suit all horses or owners. This will be held at a beautiful new 30x60 outdoor arena near Haggs.

Session options would include:
✨ Flatwork/dressage training
✨ Half schooling / half lesson
✨ Full schooling by me
✨Introduction to long reining (I would complete the first half, then guide you through it)
✨ Problem solving issues
✨Young horse specific work

This would also be an ideal opportunity for those with new or young horses, or for anyone feeling a little unsure about tackling a first outing. Low pressure environment and supportive structure, I can take over anytime. Think of me as the security blanket ☺️

The aim is to offer practical, confidence-building training that supports both horse and rider. It will be either private or shared (two horse max) sessions.

👀 Dates and prices coming soon

📩 Feel free to message me directly if you’d rather chat privately to get more info. Or if you have any suggestions.

Sierra’s second session 🩶

What an angel she was! I knew she was a clever cookie. She remembered everything we had done last week and offered some lovely work, as if picking up where we left off.

Also, you would never know there was building work, banging and sawing going on just a few metres to the side of the arena for the entire session. She did not flinch 🤩

Her owner has done a fab job desensitising her!
