Mango has been working nice and forward through her trot work the last couple of weeks 😍

We almost had to encourage her out of her comfort zone to get her stretching in a relaxed contact while still moving forward.

Now, she just offers this all the time 🙌🏻 beautiful! Next to tackle is her canter. She’s a sensitive girl, so slow and ateady wins the race.

One of coolest 4 year olds going 😎

Reilly in his session this week. He is so much fun to ride! Coming along great, lots of nice hacks with his owner between sessions too. Keeping his work easy and fun 😊

Maisie, in her first session on the long reins. We’re preparing her to come back into work with her owner.

Very sweet tb mare 💗 She certainly seemed to enjoy herself when she was going. Lots of groundwork for this girl to strengthen her up though 💪🏻 She is very nice to work with.

Grief at the yard hits differently.

Because the world keeps going.

Buckets still need filling.
Rugs still need changing.
Horses still stand at the gate like
“hi… snacks please?”

And there you are…
heart heavy…
doing normal things in an unnormal moment.

At first, it feels like everything is grief.

You walk into the yard and it’s there.
In the silence.
In the routine.
In the spaces where something...or someone...used to be.

It fills everything.

But horses… they don’t rush you out of it.

They don’t say
“you should be over this by now”

They just stand with you.

Same eyes.
Same breath.
Same steady presence.

And somehow, without forcing it…

life starts to grow around the grief.

A small moment where you notice the sun on their coat.
A quiet breath when you rest your head against their neck.
A tiny laugh at something completely ridiculous.

Not because the grief has gone…

but because something else has made space alongside it.

That’s the bit people don’t always talk about.

You don’t “move on” from grief.

You learn to carry it
while still brushing a horse
while still filling a bucket
while still finding moments of peace in the middle of it.

And one day…

you realise it’s not the only thing in the space anymore.

It’s still there.
It still matters.

But so are you.
And so is life.

Growing…
around it. 🌿🐴

The last session of the day yesterday - Jess getting the hang of long reining with Gitana, getting her ready to come back into work after having a few months off.

Top job 👌 We know Gitana isn’t the easiest to work with after having time off. But give her two session and the angel mode will be back on 😇 It’s just her way 👑

When you manage to rope the young team in to cooling down the big youngster ✨

Well more like Alayna asks because she loves him 🥰Hamish is brillaint with her. And what a fab little rider.

🐴 Struggling to school your horse, or get a nice tune out of them? 🐴

I have availability for schooling in Stirling area or near by. I can come to your horse and offer a flatwork session to give you and your horse that little push in the right direction.

I explain what I’m doing as I work away. So the owner/rider can continue to work the same way. A one-off session can help massively or regular sessions are beneficial for the younger horses.

✉️ Pm me for bookings or more information

What a difference a clip makes 😍

Gulliver at 20 years young, sporting his full clip and hogged mane. Looking fantastic with it!

And what a gentleman he was to get clipped too 🌟

The beautiful Mango in her schooling session last week 💛

She’s a sensitive young girl, but lovely to ride. So polite on the ground too!

Her owner has done a fab job backing her and starting her. She is coming along beautifully in her work 😍
