My first client today had a 20 min Indian Head Massage session so I thought I’d share a post about it.

IHM is a popular addition to many reflexologists practice, and forms a significant part of my business.

As its name implies, Indian Head Massage has been developed from the traditional massage practices of India, and was developed by an Indian gentleman called Narendra Mehta. It’s official name is Indian Champissage.💆🏼‍♀️

Indian Head Massage is performed on the upper arms, upper back, shoulders, neck, head, face and ears. 💆🏻‍♂️

The primary aim of your Indian Head Massage treatment is relaxation. Indian Head Massage is applied fully clothed, however you may be required to remove any outer jackets to allow for a smoother massage. The treatment is performed seated in a normal chair, and no other equipment is needed. I have recently added in the use of some “hot stones” for ladies with very tight muscles around the shoulder area and this seems to be a big hit allowing muscles to totally relax. I also give the option of using organic peach kernel oil during the massage, this is packed with nutrients that support scalp health and hair resilience.

Indian Head Massage is non invasive and the entire process is gentle. Despite being gentle it is a powerful therapy that may be enjoyed as a stand alone session, or in conjunction with a reflexology treatment.

Right .... now, how about you book yourself a session with a practitioner near you ... if you’re not in my area that is. 😉

Message to book, £20 for 30 minutes or add an Indian Head Massage on to your usual Reiki or Reflexology session for £15

De-stress this Christmas 🎄

Deep belly breathing, also known as diaphragmatic breathing, can have a profound impact on your physical and mental well-being. This simple yet powerful practice activates your vagus nerve, which helps trigger your body’s natural relaxation response. When this nerve is stimulated, it slows the heart rate, reduces anxiety, and boosts digestion.

Taking just five slow, deep breaths can shift you out of stress mode and into a state of calmness. You can use this technique anytime during the day to ground yourself, relieve tension, or clear your mind. It’s a wonderful tool to have in your wellness toolkit, especially when dealing with stressful moments or anxiety.

Try incorporating this practice throughout your day—whether in the morning, before bed, or during moments of high stress—and feel the benefits of slowing down and focusing on your breath. 🌬️

The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year. A powerful pause point in the natural cycle. It is a time that invites stillness, reflection and deep rest, reminding us that renewal does not begin with doing, but with being.

In holistic traditions, this turning of the wheel symbolises the return of the light, both around us and within us. Just as nature slows, restores and gathers its energy beneath the surface, we too are invited to listen inwardly. To honour fatigue, acknowledge what has been carried, and release what no longer needs our energy.

Even in periods of quiet or darkness, healing is taking place. The nervous system softens, balance recalibrates, and the seeds of growth are quietly forming.

As the days slowly begin to lengthen, may this solstice offer you permission to rest without guilt, to trust your body’s rhythms, and to step into the coming season with grounded intention rather than urgency.

Wishing you a peaceful and nourishing Winter Solstice. ❄️💜

Card of the Day - The Sacred Well

My regular clients know I always include an Oracle Card at the end of a session for some guidance.

Today’s card , prioritise self care, replenishment and giving from a place of plenty.

The Sacred Well is a resting place, a recovery place, a healing place. It’s somewhere for the weary to be replenished. A place where we can receive and re-source, in order to go back out into the world and give.

As the adage says, we can only give to others what we’ve given to ourselves or have ourselves been given.

How full is your inner well?

Are you in need of rest and replenishment?

Take some time for yourself today. 🧡
